This was a fascinating glimps into the tortured mind of a Parisian poet. It really gave me an insite into the 19th century way of life of a self proclaimed bohemian. This man spent 15 years translating E. Poe, wrote letters to his poet/artist friends such as Victor Hugo and Manet! The translation of this book was just spot on!
Show that white hair ladies! It makes you more BEAutiFUL!
Weekend plans: Me, my dogs and lots of books. There may or may not be tea or wine involved... I will go as the mood strikes me... ahhhhhhhh
It is an absolute mystery to me how in the world we have survied this long as a human species...🤤🤤🤤
From the letter's of C. Baudelaire 1860... soooo Poe is just a myth... hummmm...

Calling all E.A. Poe fans...
Ummm... there is a serious man crush going on here. Bravo to Baudelaire for being one of the few for seeing the genius in Poe. B was translating Poes work into french and this is him discussing the image on the cover...
Through out B's letters he mentions Poe so much I stopped counting.#EdgarAllanPoe
That moment you see the name of the art gallery where Vincent Van Gogh's brother Theo worked, mentioned in a letter written in 1859. Theo did not work in the Paris office until 1884 though. But what a small world! I read way too much history!
So this is a 38 year old man who is bummed that he didn't get money from his mom before she left for a trip??
My morning ritual has begun...~*♡•♡•♡*~
Sweet tea and a book. My favorite Saturday night activity...
Why yes Mr. Baudelaire, I can say I at times have had the same feeling... It's strange to have a 166 year old man get you...
So this stopped me in my tracks and had me thinking for a while...♡♡♡
