These are my three selections for the weekend. I've got lots to do, but if I can fully read the tagged and make decent progress on the other two , I'll be a happy camper. All are for my push to finish #192025 in a somewhat timely manner.

LeafingThroughLife Aw, what a blast from the past! I have such good memories of reading Avi‘s books and the Redwall series when I was a kid! ❤️📚 1w

That‘s one of my favorite lines in one of my favorite stories (The Masque of the Red Death). “Which embrace three thousand and six hundred seconds of the times that flies.”

Pickpick

This collection is a pick, even though I averaged only 3/5 among all the stories. It‘s a great introduction to Poe which concludes in his more famous work. The narration is solid and clear. Definitely a Poe fan after reading this collection.

I had two picks for this month as well. I didn‘t want to pit two spicy books against each other when my January AND February books are also two spicy books against each other, so I made one a wild card.

ravenlee One of my favorite poems ever; that and Annabel Lee (hence my user name). 1mo
GingerAntics @ravenlee 🖤🖤🖤 I almost tagged you and asked if the raven in your user name was from this. 1mo

RosePressedPages One of my favs 🖤🫀 1mo
GingerAntics @RosePressedPages this one was definitely dark, but through the whole process was so intriguing. Human nature in a nut shell. 1mo

A vain man who refuses to wear his glasses. His name says it all. Because of his vanity, he ends up marrying his great-great-grandmother. Couldn‘t stop laughing at him.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I'm scrolling through my feed, and seeing this graphic after the defined buttcheeks on your The Tell-Tale Heart post, I'm laughing out loud. 🤣 1mo
GingerAntics @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I did not notice those butt cheeks!!! 🤣😂🤣 That is ridiculously funny to have this right after. 1mo

An ancient Egyptian mummy electrocuted back to life. They spoke to the mummy in Egyptian about all sorts of topics. Explores the idea that not everything was invented by Europeans.

Metaphysics with Poe? Poe‘s visit to the Dead Philosophers Society? The Dead Philosophers Society reads Poe? I don‘t know, this is definitely tied with The Masque of the Red Death. This definitely turns on all the brain cells and gets you thinking.

AlaSkaat I have never read any of his stuff before 1mo
DrSabrinaMoldenReads I still can‘t follow you. I would love to learn about the books you read 1mo
GingerAntics @AlaSkaat I‘ve never read any before last night. Some I love. Some I hate. Some I like. He definitely has a lot of variation. I‘d say definitely get a collection like this so you can explore different writings of his. 1mo
dabbe @TheBookHippie Yes indeedy! 🖤🐦‍⬛🖤 My juniors always loved him the best, too. Wonder why? 😂 1mo
GingerAntics @dabbe he can be gory. He can be dark. He can be mysterious. He can even give a happy ending now and then. He‘s seemingly got something for everyone. 1mo
dabbe @GingerAntics And he knew how to gut-punch us to our very souls. He dared to question everyone's sanity and whether we all feel madness once in a while. He even loved graveyards ... like me. 1mo
Doll8455 My grandfather was a Baptist preacher and he loved for me to read anything by Poe. 4w
GingerAntics @Doll8455 wow, that‘s shocking. Most of the Baptist kids I knew were never allowed to read Poe. 4w
Doll8455 My grandfather was open minded and would never put up with “banned books”. 4w
GingerAntics @Doll8455 so glad the world had a person like him! 🧡🧡🧡 We need more of him. 4w
