The Other Side of an Adoption (English)
This was a very eye opening story, of a young single woman Maria, who wanted a child. But having no partner, decided to adopt a Russian orphan. After waiting a while, she eventually gets to meet her new daughter Alba, and eventually takes her home. But after a very good start, things start to change, as Alba's behaviour skyrockets into something terrifying, and Maria is left, to wonder why.

I just finished reading this story of adoption, from the point of view of the new parent. It was a very raw, but open telling of how a young woman adopts a Russian orphan, and how both their lives are completely changed from the very first moment. The author Maria, is writing her story to let other prospective parent/s know what can happen, when you become the sole guardian, of a child, that you know literally nothing about. I gave it 5 stars.
