This is my current read and it's so good so far 💜🧜🧜‍♂️

I really wanted to love this, but just didn't. Which sucks because I love a good fairy-tale retelling.

It read like a fanfiction, the pacing was off, and the characters superficial.

🧜🏽‍♀️🧜🏽‍♀️Sisters & female relationships in another retelling set a couple of generations after Hennings‘ first in the series.

The first book, Sea Witch is a creative retelling of Little Mermaid from Ursula‘s (named Evie here) POV. Book 2 is told in alternating perspectives from Evie and Rena‘s POV. Runa bargains with Evie, trying to save her twin sister Alia, another mermaid who again fell in love with a prince. Book 2 didn‘t hold my interest as well as book 1. In the end, I did enjoy the story, I just expect a bit more than delivered.

I like the pop of purple they have added to this sequel to the Sea Witch.
