If you are looking for a screed of how difficult this woman thinks she has in this time and place in world history this book is as fine a choice as any.

Her main premise is anything‘s about race if a person of color says it is. She‘s a biracial person, therefore we must listen to her. Poorly formed arguments abound. Our multiracial group who read this together felt this wasn‘t helpful at all.

Very difficult issue. I had my problems with this book, especially the very confrontational language. But then maybe that's the only way at the moment for people to get it. Glad I read it

#ConflictedWorlds Day 21: #PersonVsCoWorker is mentioned here. Daughter‘s main text for her summer class. It‘s great to finally have lengthy conversations with the faery about intersectionality, racial inequality, systemic forms of oppression. It is also instructive to critique the parameters of this text, not necessarily to engage in some form of Oppression Olympics, but to acknowledge that there ARE hierarchies of privilege and “Otherness.”

I‘m posting these in no particular order, because I‘m bad at ranking the best!

Super hard to read when a pibble wants to cuddle. The snuggle struggle is real.
