1) Definitely sitting down
2) The tagged book & Fortress of Solitude by Lethem. I really like both of them, but feel like I have been reading them for eons,
@thespineview #two4tuesday

TheSpineView I am interested in read your review of 6d
vivastory @TheSpineView I have only read one Lethem, years ago but still think of it from time to time. I will def be doing a review of this one. I think part of my issue with FOS is that I feel like I need a soft cover copy that I engage with & mark all the brilliant descriptive passages rather than the hardcover library edition I'm currently reading. Will probably order one today. 6d
TheSpineView @vivastory I'll look for your review. Can't bring myself to mark up books. I got a Kindle Scribe for Christmas just so I could take notes. 6d

Panpan

Scott Carey is shrinking by 1/7 inch per day. As he is now only an inch tall he only has a week left before he disappears altogether.

Curiosity about what would happen when he lost the final 1/7 of an inch kept me going. Although I liked some of the later flashbacks the continuous “woe is me“ in the earlier ones got on my nerves and the main story of his battles with the spider and struggles to move about didn't hold my interest at all.

RamsFan1963 I think it's one of those rare occasions when the movie is better, especially his fight with the spider. That scene freaked me out as a kid. 2y

Bookwomble I was talking to @vivastory about this book earlier in the week 😊 I found it a thoughtful and bleak story. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts when you've finished it. 2y
vivastory I'm looking forward to reading it @Bookwomble I read a Matheson story yesterday that is one of the most disturbing things I've read in awhile 2y
rwmg @Bookwomble @Vivastory Sorry to say that apart from being intrigued by the premise and wanting to know what would happen in the end, I wasn't that taken with it. OTOH, I loved “I Am Legend“, the only other one of his I've read as far as I remember. 2y
vivastory I have read, & loved, I Am Legend. I am greatly enjoying the short stories that I have read from the tagged collection 2y
Bookwomble @rwmg @vivastory Sorry you didn't quite fall for it. You might like "Stir of Echoes", which the Kevin Bacon film was an adaptation of. And although it has mixed reviews, I really enjoyed the tagged, which is his homage to those classic Hitchcock movies like North by Northwest. Matheson was such a versatile writer ? 2y

Pickpick

Love Richard Matheson (and if you‘re a fan of Twilight Zone, you know his stories) and this one, while not my favorite, was excellent.
Some parts were problematic (ogling a 16 year old girl) and some of the physical descriptions of our main character traversing his new giant sized landscape were, for me, difficult to envision.
That aside, a thrilling and exciting story told by one of the greats.
Now to watch the movie!….
