#Midwintersolace

A little word search game, just for fun. I really enjoyed these for #scarathalon
Where could you find the most words? I reckon a book on hygge would hit the jackpot? 🤔😁

Ann_Reads I'll be sure to check when I read Hygge: A Beginner's Guide to Celebrate Life the Danish Way. The Children's Book of Christmas Stories seems like another possible candidate. 🙂 2mo
AllDebooks They should be a good start 🤞 2mo

1875 points for my last week of #Scarathalon! Highlights: watched some Interview with the Vampire episodes & Young Frankenstein. Rocky Horror Picture Show! Read 21 hours for #20in4! All time record, as I was recovering from surgery! Made an awesome campfire, made delicious food from pumpkins. Finished #TeamSlaughter team read. Best read was Shadow of the Wind! Thanks for hosting @Clwojick and thanks to @Andrew65 for hosting the readathon!

Ann_Reads Hoping you're improving each day during the first part of your healing journey. (edited) 3mo

Week 4 - Total points = 7650
Accumulative total = 22,289

I can't thank you enough @Clwojick and @StayCurious for your fantastic organisation. This has been so much fun. I've raced through my tbr pile, found new authors, read outside my comfort zone and made new friends.
Bring on the #Wintergames2022 I'm in the zone and ready

One of my bucket list #Scarathalon goals was a campfire. I‘m going to count this, an epic fire art piece at an art gallery we rent to and have been offering up our adjoining lot for events. It was a wonderful evening! #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick

CarolynM Wow! That looks great. Must have been an interesting exhibition. 3mo
IndoorDame Very cool! 3mo

False Witness | Karin Slaughter

Panpan

My last Karin Slaughter. Pieces of Her was a good story but I had so many problems with this one. It felt too prurient with its pedophila/child rape storyline. It really needed an editor. So much repetition, unnecessary overly long explanatory passages. Yes, author, we get you know a lot about a variety of topics related to crimes and cops. #TeamSlaughter #Scarathalon @Clwojick

Clwojick 😂 I feel similar. I liked it, but I feel like she tries a little too hard for “shock value”. I still think the first book I‘ve read by her is still my favourite. Mostly because it was so dark and thrilling that I was actually creeped out. I read a lot of thrillers, so it takes a lot to creep me out. I think I‘ll take a vote for next year to see if its finally time to move away from #TeamSlaughter, and choose a different author. 😊👏🏻 3mo
SamAnne @Clwojick what was the first one you read? I‘d be up for a different author! 3mo
Clwojick This one! It‘s super dark, but I enjoyed the domestic thriller aspect of it. It was also one of the first audiobooks I ever listened to, instead of physically reading, so I felt like that definitely added to the creep experience. 3mo
Kimberlone It was definitely too long and the violence/abuse content was way over the top. I‘m not even a prude when it comes to that stuff but I found myself fast forwarding through some of the long overly descriptive sections. 3mo

As a former expat, “Watcher” was a particular creepy movie with which to end my Scarathalon horrors. Isolated in a confusing foreign land with a difficult language, Romania, an expat wife encounters a dangerous neighbor… #horror #stalking #expatlife #movies #TeamSlaughter #Scarathalon
