pickI‘m not gonna lie, the ending was a little predictable, and there were a few times when a word was overused just because it‘s big and pretty (once again advocating for a thesaurus and that - gasp! - small words are okay). Overall, I liked the language, even with all the pop culture references, but it felt mostly natural. I still had a good time reading it though, which was refreshing.

pickI bought this book after a professor had us read “The Husband Stitch” for a Hauntings and Horrors literature class. I won‘t lie, it did get a little slow there in the middle, and all the stories made my head feel fuzzy, but I did enjoy all of them in some way or another. The Husband Stitch is, imho, the best of them, but a good read regardless.

pickLove Richard Matheson (and if you‘re a fan of Twilight Zone, you know his stories) and this one, while not my favorite, was excellent.
Some parts were problematic (ogling a 16 year old girl) and some of the physical descriptions of our main character traversing his new giant sized landscape were, for me, difficult to envision.
That aside, a thrilling and exciting story told by one of the greats.
Now to watch the movie!….

This one strikes WAYYY too close to home! An epidemic takes over the US, with a bisexual main character, and I can easily put myself in her shoes. Spooky.

We had to read this one for a horror class in college and boy howdy was it an interesting discussion day. My mom ended up also reading it from our shared iCloud drive and wants to borrow my book when I‘m done. I love the mix of children‘s scary stories and an adult experience.

I watched this for the first time with my mom in high school, but since it‘s almost been a decade later, I feel…nostalgic? Idk, I was watching Nightmare on Elm Street 7 and just…really wanted to watch Lost Boys so I did. We love Californian vampires.

I found this movie incredibly boring and almost didn‘t finish it. Insidious did a much better job with the “child stuck in spirit world with a dark entity attached” bit. I was just expecting more from a “classic.”

I‘ve never actually watched all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, but they‘re all on HBO, so I thought I‘d give it a go. Halloween and Scream are still my favorite slashers, so I went in with a bias and I still have 3 movies left. So far, my favorite was Freddy‘s Dead, and I didn‘t even watch it in 3D!
