I‘m away from home so I had to use a book I‘ve read on Libby. I love Katherine Center-this book is no exception.

Ahhh the minute I open a K. Center book, I‘m hooked and can‘t put it down. Partly biographical, it features a strong female who, even when her fiancé dumps her the day before she births their child, rises above the shock and throws herself into devoted (single) motherhood, with some help and insight from her smart, no-BS mom. Great characters & their flaws, great plot & subplots

My #bookspin for April is the debut novel from an author that I have been reading and enjoying for the last few years. I decided to put her backlist on my TBR.
I really liked this story of 28 yo pregnant Jenny whose anticipated wedding/life doesn‘t go as planned. The story is at times hilarious, at times heartbreaking, at times exasperating. My only complaint is at 85%, Jenny makes a disappointing decision that really annoyed/surprised me. ⬇️⬇️

robinb But overall, I laughed, I commiserated and I was entertained by this fast read. 4/5⭐️

TheAromaofBooks Great review! So here's my random question - if this had been the first book you read by this author, would you have gone on to read others? I'm always intrigued by how my “first impression“ of an author is part of what determines whether I read anything else they've written. 4y
robinb @TheAromaofBooks thanks and yes, if this had been my first of her books to read, I would have wanted to continue with more. Even though I didn‘t like a particular way a character reacted late in the story, it wasn‘t enough to sidetrack my enjoyment of the story overall. And I agree. Those “first impressions” are a do or die for me as well. 😊👍 4y

Finished 8/2/17 - Chosen for my book club and (miraculously) everyone who read it in time for the meeting enjoyed it. Plus, once the others who didn‘t read heard the discussion, my copy was borrowed and passed around the office. (It‘s still going!)
