This one is a pretty straight narrative from Darcy's viewpoint for the entirety of P&P, meaning we get to understand more about his #pride and perspective. I enjoyed this one, but it was also somewhat boring because Kelley doesn't wander very far from the original story, and also doesn't really seem to think that Darcy has a sense of humor (I personally think he's one of those quietly snarky individuals). When I was pulling up this image from GR ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) I realized that the author actually wrote two sequels, one about Georgianna and one about Kitty, so I may have to check those out sometime as I thought the writing quality of this one was quite good, and exploring her own stories might make things a bit more interesting than just the flip side of P&P.

CrowCAH I see what you mean about sticking with the story. If she wanted to write a book from his side then go bold and make it different. Nothing will compare to the original!!! 3y
mabell I can see how that would end up boring - I can picture it perfectly! And I agree with you, Darcy definitely has a sense of humor, and most likely a snarky one! His comments to Caroline alone show that 😂 3y

Pickpick

This isn't really a P&P variation - it's just the story from Darcy's perspective (although still 3rd person). Since Darcy tends to be a rather serious, stoic character, this book wasn't bad, but it also wasn't very engaging. We still don't really get any background/motivation for Darcy, either. Still an enjoyable read as a parallel story to the original. Also my #DoubleSpin book this month!!
