It's been decades since anyone set foot on the moon. Now three ordinary teenagers, the winners of NASA's unprecedented, worldwide lottery, are about to become the first young people in space--and change their lives forever. Mia, from Norway, hopes this will be her punk band's ticket to fame and fortune. Midori believes it's her way out of her restrained life in Japan. Antoine, from France, just wants to get as far away from his ex-girlfriend as possible. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, but little do the teenagers know that something sinister is waiting for them on the desolate surface of the moon. And in the black vacuum of space... no one is coming to save them.In this chilling adventure set in the most brutal landscape known to man, highly acclaimed Norwegian novelist Johan Harstad creates a vivid and frightening world of possibilities we can only hope never come true.

This is a great YA/teen read! Someone recommended it to me about 10 years ago and I finally got around to reading it! I remember them saying it was one of the scariest books they‘d read. It is very creepy and scary. Kept my anxiety levels high but worth reading.

I have so many words to describe this book...bonkers, scary, heart-breaking, thrilling, excellent. I read it in 2 sittings because I had to know what happened to everyone.

RachelAmphlett Ooh, reckon my hubby would like that! 7y

The book creeped me out so much; therefore, I will use it for every prompt dealing with #WalkingOnTheMoon. #RockInMay

Can't wait to read about Mia, Midori and Antoine's chilling adventure. Described as Scandinavian thriller meets sci-fi horror movie.

Carolyn11215 Creepy doesn't even begin to describe. Was in the middle of it when news hit that John Glenn had died. It'll be a long time before I look at the moon as beautiful again... 8y

Here are some #outofthisworld books for today's #Booktober challenge. I just pulled what was easy to spot. My bookcases are a terrible mess right now. You'd think that would keep me from buying more books, but I'm not even going to try to lie to myself about that. 😂

I read this last year and I still creep myself out whenever I think about it. I originally assumed it was going to be some lame space/sci-fi novel, but it ended up being so suspenseful at times that I thought I was going to vomit. #SeptPhotoChallenge #SomethingForSept #NumberInTheTitle

MrBook Wow! You've talked me into it 😊👍🏻! 8y
BekahB There were definitely some incredibly creepy parts of this book that got under my skin. 😬 8y

Mehso-so

I thought this was going to be a nice little book about teens going to the moon. I was wrong. It was basically a horror book set in space. It left me with a lot of unanswered questions and nightmares. 👓👓 1/2 glasses

winemom It sounds intriguing. I have a tendency to like books that seem pretty benign, only to have them turn really weird and horrifying. lol I'll have to check it out. 8y
BookJunkie429 @winemom LOL!! This book is for you then. 8y
