IN A RICH, DISTINCTIVE WORLD THAT MIXES MAGIC WITH TECHNOLOGY, WHO COULD STAND AGAINST MAGES THAT CONTROL GUNPOWDER AND BULLETS? The capital has fallen... Field Marshal Tamas returns to his beloved country to find that for the first time in history, the capital city of Adro lies in the hands of a foreign invader. His son is missing, his allies are indistinguishable from his foes, and reinforcements are several weeks away. An army divided... With the Kez still bearing down upon them and without clear leadership, the Adran army has turned against itself. Inspector Adamat is drawn into the very heart of this new mutiny with promises of finding his kidnapped son. All hope rests with one... And Taniel Two-shot, hunted by men he once thought his friends, must safeguard the only chance Adro has of getting through this war without being destroyed... THE AUTUMN REPUBLIC is the epic conclusion that began with Promise of Blood and The Crimson Campaign.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 And that completes this wonderful first trilogy of the Powder Mage books! Wow what an awesome ride! I can‘t recommend this enough. Powerfully imagined world and strong characters especially the women!

Looking forward to Gods and Powder. A new favorite authors!

Yesterday I finally started my first book of 2022 and had a good hour of reading time with one of the kittens on my lap.

When are the next readathons? I need some info, I was gone for so long!

A very fitting ending to the trilogy!
Although at some point I thought McClellan would leave me hanging. There were so many stories to tie up!
I really loved the characters and the setting. 🤩😍🤩

BehindthePages This series floored me. An engaging and original story! Glad you enjoyed it :) 5y
Deifio I think there's a follow up trilogy. Did you read that @Letora ? 5y

Giving this a go:
There's this scene with Inspector Adamant thinking about his eldest son and coming to a conclusion. It's just so sad. I had to stop reading for a while 😢

ljuliel Thanks for chiming in. It‘s good when books have that ability to pull emotions from us. Signs of a good author ! And most of my favorite books were sad. I think it helps us to empathize with others and put ourselves in someone else‘s shoes. 5y
Deifio It made me laugh a couple of times, too. But you know the sad scene stuck more. 5y

This is such a good bit! Tamas doesn't have a clue what's going on but he arrived just in time!
I don't know if I want to continue reading or savour the excitement some more! 😍😍🤩
