Mehso-so

Yikes, I don't know quite what to think. I was all-in about the concept, but about 40% of the way in, I sort of tuned out. Maybe it's that the stakes got too big too fast, instead of escalating slowly. Maybe it's that parts of it just felt goofy for me. Meh?

In the far regions of musicland an unknown band releases a new song. A music blogger stumbles across it & finds himself entranced by the music - seriously, he discovers after a while that he'd been listening to the same track for a day. As each track comes out, it's causing a strange reaction to the listeners. And those reactions? They're becoming more violent. The question then becomes what will happen when the final track is released. Trippy!

I haven‘t been on in a while. Actually I just decided to come back to post that this is my favorite book I‘ve read so far this year. Unfortunately you can‘t write a blurb about this book without spoilers, and I recommend going into it as blind as I did. Coming in at under 125 pages, this is a short and sweet novella that I Could. Not. Put. Down. #scifi #music #beautifulremorse

BooknerdsLife That sounds intriguing 🙌🏼☺️ #stacked to my TBR! & Welcome back to Litsy 💖🤗 5y

Started this one this am. Premise is some no name rock band suddenly explodes on the scene and their music has the power to enrapture and control people in different ways. It‘s a short novella but pretty good. Takes the perspective of a music blogger who follows the band around and witnesses first hand what is happening.

Seattle‘s been having a snow adventure, so I‘ve been holed up the last couple of days having my own mini readathon! ❄️📚 These are some of the books I‘ve been spending time with (tagged book is my current read). I was asked to moderate two panels at ECCC, so I‘ve been reading some great authors to prepare. (House of Salt and Sorrows was a palate cleanser.) Hope everyone‘s staying warm wherever you are!!
