My #tuesdaytunes is the entire new Florence & the Machines album: Everybody Scream. In 2011 I was living in MN, that August I attended an incredible 2 day music festival featuring: Devotchka, The New Pornographers, Okkervil River, Flaming Lips and more. The following year promised to top it & I immediately bought tickets, sadly it was cancelled due to lack of sales. I do recall Jane's Addiction, Weezer and Florence and the Machines (CONT)

vivastory all being on the bill. Another two day music festival at a price that while more expensive than the previous year was definitely worth it. The first festival remains as one of my favorite music experiences, esp. The Flaming Lips. However: Florence and the Machines do remain on my bucket list.

For #tuesdaytunes, I‘m sharing my October Listening Recap from Amazon Music. Tears Don‘t Fall is currently my profile song on my Instagram. I like that we can add a profile song on Instagram and we can change our profile song if we want to listen to something different.

I always listen to this album in late October-mid November for it has my favorite BM song: “When October Goes“ and is (obviously) fitting for this time period. It's a jazz album with many lyrics by Johnny Mercer: a total diversion from the pop Manilow stuff. 🧡🍁♥️

TieDyeDude Definitely a different vibe for a Manilow song. That's a nice tradition. Thanks for sharing! 7h

I made the mistake of looking at "milestone year" albums, particularly those that came out when I was 15. This song...well, it explains a lot. ??

"What came first – the music or the misery? Did I listen to the music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to the music?" Nick Hornby, High Fidelity

CBee WOMAN!! I was 18 when this came out. Speaking to my teenage angst-y heart 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 9h
lil1inblue @CBee 🤩 I feel as though the music of our youth uniquely prepared us for this era of chaos. 🙃 7h
TieDyeDude High Fidelity is so melodramatic! I love it 😄 It's a great question, though. I always felt that way when listening to Dashboard Confessional 7h

Maybe you recognize Smith‘s music from Good Will Hunting. I was a fan of Elliot‘s from the start and saw him several times in person. Certainly not music to dance to but music that meant a lot to me. I couldn‘t listen to his music for almost 20 years following his death because it made me so sad that he was gone. But he‘s back on my playlist.

TieDyeDude I came to know of Smith through one of my favorite bands, The Polyphonic Spree, who were brought in to complete the soundtrack for Thumbsucker after Smith died. 4h
Suet624 @TieDyeDude I was hooked on Polyphonic Spree for a long time. I didn‘t know they helped to complete that soundtrack. 24m
