Coming In From The Cold
Coming In From The Cold | Sarina Bowen
6 posts | 9 read | 5 to read
Alpine ski champion Dane - Danger - Hollister does not do relationships, though he has an excellent reason. No woman would ever say "I do" to a guy whose faulty DNA will eventually cost him everything: his spot on the U.S. ski team, his endorsements and the ability to fly downhill at ninety miles per hour. While Willow Reade moved to rural Vermont to get back to the land, that wasn't meant to include a night stranded in her vehicle during a blizzard. Luckily, the hot ski racer she practically ran off the road has granola bars and a sleeping bag and is happy to share. Maybe it's the close quarters, maybe it's the snow, but soon the two are sharing a lot more than conversation. Yet neither can guess how their spontaneous passion will uncork Dane's ugly secret and Willow's tentative peace with her own choices. Only their mutual trust and bravery can end the pain and give Willow and Dane a shot at hard-won happiness. "A deeply romantic story that warms with slow-burn eroticism and genuine insight into loss and love. Sarina Bowen's debut glows with intelligence and a lovely sweetness." - Mary Ann Rivers, author of Live.

#bookreport I finished this before work yesterday. This and Last Letter from Juliet (which I posted about earlier this week) were the only 2 books finished. This one was just meh for me. It took about halfway for me to really get into it and I‘m just not sure I‘ll continue with the trilogy (although both sound good, but then, so did this one) @Cinfhen

Cinfhen Idk....cover has appeal 😜 4y
CocoReads Pretty sure I chose it based on the cover. 🤣🤣 I don‘t even know why it was just meh, it was written well enough and the premise was fine-maybe it was my mood, which is why at some point I may try the second book. 4y

Questioning my decision to work in a hospital (no snow days). It‘s not that much snow but it‘s icy and cold. Now that I‘m halfway through the tagged book, I‘m liking it better but I‘m not sure I‘ll read the rest of the series.

Pickpick

This was cute and steamy but on the lower end of a pick for me. Very insta-romance, which doesn't always get on my nerves, but this was a bit over-the-top. An entertaining read, though! #romantsy

This is my favorite book by Sarina Bowen -- I was 😍🙌🏻when the audiobook published this week.

I love Willow's depth of character more with each reread. She makes tough decisions; I love that she utilizes her BFF Callie as a resource and she also thinks for herself. (She also has pet chickens, like me!) Dane isn't always nice, but I truly understand his thought processes/experiences here, so I connect with him deeply as a character. #romantsy

EloisaJames Mine is . I liked this one, but he was such an ass about the testing process. (edited) 7y

Mehso-so

(3 stars) Three Thoughts 1) quick if predictable story 2) hero was an ass & his change happened so fast it was hard to believe & heroine was just too willing to forgive & forget 3) ending was a little too cutesy & tone didn't fit the first 1/2 of bk
