Seems I'm into these two time periods, too.
LES MIS: 1830s Paris
THE SECRET OF CHIMNEYS: 1920s London
WIVES AND DAUGHTERS: 1830s Hollingford, UK (modeled after Cheshire)
“The Problem of Thor Bridge“: 1920s Hampshire, UK
And where are you in your book(s) today? 🤩
willaful I'm in Edwardian London, with an honorable cop and a perhaps psychic graphologist who has good reason to distrust the police... 7h
Dilara Very Victorian/Edwardian and European, so far! I am in France, at the end of the 19th century, beginning of the 20th, with a suffragist's essay published in 1908: Le vote des femmes by Hubertine Auclert.

dabbe @Dilara I seem to love those time periods the most! And kudos to you for reading an essay! As a retired English teacher, I graded way too many of those to have read many lately--oh, who am I kidding--pretty much ever. 🤩 6h
willaful Actually, I'm wrong - it's post WW1, not Edwardian.
