The journey of this complicated father and daughter relationship was filled with resentment, confusion, having those difficult conversations about the past , and the power of forgiveness . Calla adjusting to small town life, taken out of her comfort zone and being coupled with grumpy but attractive Jonah ALWAYS around , made this story so heartwarming! I bawled my eyes out throughout this book!

This one was such a pleasant surprise that I really enjoyed. Our relationships with our parents isn't always an easy one. It's hard when you need something they can't give. Calla's journey to a relationship with her father was a tough one that yielded a satisfying results.

I loved this! I cannot for the life of me remember how this ended up on my TBR but I‘m so glad it did.
It‘s a romance primarily but with some family drama. Callah sets off for Alaska to meet her estranged father who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer & clashes with pilot Jonah along the way.
Probably because my toddler has been watching it every other day recently but my brain kept picturing Kristoff from Frozen when Jonah appeared! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Things haven‘t been too easy here recently, so I‘ve really been relying on my books for some escapism. Isn‘t it great how something so small can carry you off to another place or put you in someone else‘s head?
I‘ve been spending time in these two worlds over the last week or so and it‘s been great, they‘re very different! I‘ve only got about half an hour left of The Simple Wild and I almost don‘t want to listen to it as I don‘t want it to end!
