August has been a great reading month for me - in part #rushathon in part hols and some long travels this twisty, dark mystery was a good one to finish on. Forgotten how much I used to enjoy this author and whilst heavily unbelievable outcome it was a well crafted and compelling story!

I love twisty thrillers, and this one certainly had them! I thought I had it figured out at one point, and then the author took me on a wild roller coaster ride! Very few things were as they first appeared to be. Great read!

dylanisreading This is definitely going on my tbr. Great review! 5y

jenreads7 @suzie.reads Oh! I need to check out more by her then! This is the only book I‘ve read by her! It was the audiobook on Audible. Great listen, for sure. Made me want to work on paperwork longer! 😂 5y
jenreads7 @suzie.reads Do you need to read the DD Warren books in order? 5y
suzie.reads @jenniferajanes imy reading them in order but you probably don't need to as it gives you abit of a back story on DD Warren in all the books 5y
jenreads7 @suzie.reads Cool. Thanks for the information. I‘ll see what the library has. Our library‘s drive-thru is still open. We just have to request the books online. 😁 5y

The Other Daughter was the winner of the 1999 Reviewer‘s Choice Award and winner of the 2000 Daphne‘s Du Maurier Award for suspense. And I now know why it is being republished in audio.... https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/blog/the-other-daughter

So maybe I read it cover to cover and maybe it is past my bedtime on a week night. But I just felt so bad for the poor family and Melanie that I wanted to get to the happy ending. All in all, a good suspense. A few mysteries weren't so secret, and one or two were a nice surprise!
