Philippa Somerville from Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles, because she's clever and adventurous and opinionated and willing to go through anything for what is good. pickJust finished my reread. This book is still epic in scope of adventure, romance, and plot twists. I cry at the end every time.
