pickFor fans of Jones let me just warn you that this is not his typical writing and it isn't horror. It reads like a memoir, but it's listed as fiction.
Jones has nailed the intricacies of small Texas towns in this book. I personally loved it and was so impressed yet again at the versatility of his writing.
pick🎧 What did I just listen to? It‘s not a zombie book!! I now know more about bales of cotton than I ever could have imagined knowing. Read don‘t listen!
IDK if there‘s truth in this book as it‘s billed as a novel. It‘s investigative journalism, mystery, memoir, true crime all mixed up in different time lines.
There‘s a bit of horror but it‘s narrated as ... just life. 1st SGJ book. The Only Good Indians is on hold.

pickI‘m not exactly sure that I caught everything that was going on in this book. I kept losing track of all the players and the significance of what everyone was doing to each other. However, I loved the way it was written. A memoir of sorts, with past memories and current events revolving around each other and a threat of what is to come woven all the way through it.
