Children of the Street
Children of the Street: An Inspector Darko Dawson Mystery | Kwei Quartey
1 post | 4 read | 4 to read
In the slums of Accra, Ghana’s fast-moving, cosmopolitan capital, teenagers are turning up dead. Inspector Darko Dawson has seen many crimes, but this latest string of murders—in which all the young victims bear a chilling signature—is the most unsettling of his career. Are these heinous acts a form of ritual killing or the work of a lone, cold-blooded monster? With time running out, Dawson embarks on a harrowing journey through the city’s underbelly and confronts the brutal world of the urban poor, where street children are forced to fight for their very survival—and a cunning killer seems just out of reach. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Pickpick

An excellent second book in the Darko Dawson series, set in Ghana 🇬🇭. Really sad in places because of the nature of the victims and the descriptions of where they lived and how they got there. Surprisingly funny and touching in others, with a good whodunit. #LitsyReadingChallenge #LRC5 #setinAfrica #LitsyAtoZ #LetterQ (image from web) @jessica

bookwrm526 @Bookzombie It's great! It was set more out in a rural area where this one is set in the city. 7y
