This is a fun series - I think fans of Kerry Greenwood (Phryne Fisher) and Rhys Bowen (Lady Georgina) would really enjoy. #howjessreadsin2019

CarolynM I love this series too, but I seriously hate that cover! (edited) 6y
howjessicareads @CarolynM Really? I like it! I mean obviously the big black ARC banner kinda ruins it, but I like the actual image! 6y
CarolynM I just think it makes it look very "cozy mystery" and while you could characterise the series that way, I think it's more than that. The latest cover style here is a bit that way, but not as badly as yours. I liked their original style best, but obviously it didn't sell so well? 6y
howjessicareads @CarolynM I think basically any mystery set between 1910-1930 is totally copying Maisie Dobbs‘ success. They all have very similar, art-deco-y covers. 6y

Sometimes #rowlandsinclair ‚s family simply drives me mad... why does nobody ever talk to another!? 🙈

Sulari Gentill's acknowledgements are often as entertaining as her books. They are also quite long. The first couple of paragraphs of this one are particularly good, I think.

Love every book by Australian author Sulari Gentill. Give the Devil his Due is book 7 and is so far living up to its predecessors. Rowland Sinclair is a wealthy young man living in 1920s Sydney with a female artist and two communist friends, reluctantly getting involved in politics & murder.
