Here's #BookSpinBingo for this month. I'll be pretty busy, but we'll see how much we get done... Thanks as always, @TheAromaOfBooks
Here's #BookSpinBingo for this month. I'll be pretty busy, but we'll see how much we get done... Thanks as always, @TheAromaOfBooks
Only 12 books in September... and October‘s probably gonna be less, because work will be very stressful... but oh well 🤷♀️#BooksSpinBingo
This year has been a great reading year so far: i met my #goodreadsreadingchallenge of 120 books in 2021 early! Here‘s this year‘s bookshelf so far.

You guys!! I did it!! For the first time ever (and thanks to convenient joker placements) i have managed to finish a BINGO line. Say whaaaat?! I won‘t be posting for August since i‘ll be on holiday till 20th, but in September i‘ll be back in. Thanks for this little victory, @TheAromaofBooks 💪😝
Today is my 5 (five!) year Litsy anniversary! Hooray! Thanks for half a decade of bookish fun and friendship, fellow Littens
Here's my July #BookSpinBingo
Will I ever have a full #BookSpinBingo? Probably not. Will I continue in this anyways? Definitely yes! Thanks again for organizing, @thearomaofbooks
Finally got round to setting up my #BookSpinBingo for June, and I'm already two books in ;) Thanks for all the good work @TheAromaOfBooks 😻
Had a great reading month and yet didnt manage to make a #BookSpinBingo. But at least I got both #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin down. DNFed an austrian SciFi novel, and am still reading/listening to Crying In H Mart (so sad!) and last years German Book Price winner, but all in all i finished 16 books! Off we go to June @TheAromaofBooks 💪📚
To celebrate my 50k-landmark and say thanks I‘m giving away some bookish goodies and these brand new copies of THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD (in🇩🇪, thus national) and DAISY JONES (🇬🇧, open internationally) I have double. I know these aren‘t new releases, but maybe some haven‘t read them yet? Feel free to share. To enter just look up the instructions on my original post. Hugs from Germany 💐🍻😘📚
Here's my #BookSpinBingo for May. Already finished my first book on day one. Will this be the month I finally get a bingo? Probably not. Never gonna happen. Doesn't matter, I still enjoy this wee game anyways ;) Thanks, @TheAromaOfBooks! #BookSpin is A VISIT FROM THE GOON SQUAD and #DoubleSpin is EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED. Have fun reading, folks!
Here‘s Aprils #BookSpinBingo. This has been a rather good reading month for me, there‘s a couple more that are not on here, 14 books in total. STILL no bingo and #Bookspin or #doublespin. though i‘m half way through Burnt Sugar and will probably finish today, so i didn‘t bother putting it on the list for may. Can‘t wait, @TheAromaofBooks
Lovely littens, to celebrate my nearing 50k-landmark and say thanks I‘m giving away brand new copies of THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD (in🇩🇪, thus national) and DAISY JONES (🇬🇧, open internationally).
All you need is to tell me your fave Litsy memory (& which📙you‘d like) under ⬇️THIS‼️very post (feel free to share though). Winners will be announced May 14th. Have fun and thanks for all the lovely memories I made here with you 😍📚
Aaaaand here‘s Aprils #BookSpinBingo with #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin and five blank spaces. Hope to get some reading down over easter!
Here‘s my march #BooksSpinBingo roundup. All in all i read 11 months, but none of the Double / #BookSpin picks. Well... next time...
#unpopularopinion: super disappointed. Yes, it chews through deep, profound, universal thoughts and yet it remains...vanilla? Yes, the writing‘s decent & the protagonist relatable. But is it TOO pleasant? This is so SO(!) utterly predictable. Haig usually knows how to infuse his narratives with whimsy & finesse while tackling THE BIG❓s. But this felt like a hallmark movie that you only kept watching because you knew the actor from something else.
Late as always, but here‘s my #bookspinbingo including #bookspin and #doublesipin. Here‘s to march, @TheAromaofBooks ☀️💌💐
@Readergrrl I‘m glad I waited so we could open our #Bestof2020 swaps together. Thank you so much, I love it! I‘ve had this book on my TBR for a while so this was just perfect and I‘m sure I‘ll be starting it soon. And the maple brittle is already half-gone too 😂😘💌
This was the first month since participating in #BookSpinBingo that I finished neither #BooksSpin nor #DoubleSpin. I did, however still read 10 books, so it could be worse...
My new planner finally arrived after getting lost in the mail (🙈) and i spent the whole weekend breaking it in. Here‘s my #bookspinbingo inspired 64 point #readingchallenge for this year! #bujo
Finally found time to finish the final novel of the WITCHER and i absolutely loved it. It tied up a heap of story lines of the previous books and gave a non-stereotypical-yet-satisfying conclusion to the saga. And with all those plot twists there was no anticipating how it would end. I really loved the contemporary spirit of this high-fantasy series and am dreading that there‘s only the prequel left for me now. And the games...
Here‘s my slightly belated bingo board for january with THE BITCH DOCTRINE and THE LIE TREE being my #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin picks. Thanks for making it all happen my dear @TheAromaofBooks #BookSpinBingo
Here‘s my january #BookSpin list. I know i‘m a bit late but i‘m sure i can still join, right @TheAromaofBooks ? I don‘t mind if it doesn‘t count for the lottery, I‘m just doing it for some added reading drive anyways ;) #2021readinggoals
Here‘s how my december #BookSpinBingo turned out. I was super stressed at work and predictably had a massive energy drop over the holidays and got super depressed, which is why this board remained emptier than i‘d have liked. But who cares. At least i got my #DoubleSpin down. So here‘s to next month! 🍾🎆
Here‘s my final statistics for my 2020 reading logs. I am super happy with how things went and looking forward to my new goals for 2021: reading more diversely and at least 10 a month!
And here‘s #MyYearInBooks Goodreads statistic. I‘m super happy with my reading rhis year (i even surpassed myreadkngchallenge with 117,5%!) and Litsy has been a huge part in it! Thanks everyone ❤️ I don‘t have a clear favorite this year but have loads of 5⭐️ reads on the list.
Here‘s almost all of my 140 books i read in 2020 with top favorites being:
🏆The Testaments
🏆Moon Tiger
🏆The Book of Dust
🏆Quixotte
🏆Paper Girls
🏆Der Steppenwolf
🏆The Seven Husbands od Evelyn Hugo
🏆On Earth We‘re Briefly Gorgeous
🏆Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal
🏆Ninth House
🏆The Virgin Suicides
🏆Apeirogon
🏆Breasts and Eggs
🏆The Martian
🏆Cloud Atlas
🏆Swing Time
🏆Egg Over Easy
🏆Life After Life
🏆The House at the Cerulean Sea
Just finished my last book of 2020 with my #DoubleSpin pick for this month. I get why this has been celebrated so, but -and it might just have been a time and place thing- it didn‘t really grip me. A great YA-fantasy adventure following two pairs of siblings, fully modernized through themes of BLM and feminism in decent (if not outstanding) prose. Would have loved it as a teen.
Look what just came right on time @Readergrrl and as you can see from my greedy grin i can‘t wait to open it. But I just checked with your package and saw that it still hast arrived with you, correct? The tracking number says it has been in the US since dec 23rd... so hopefully it will be there soon and then we‘ll open together! Here‘s the tracking number with DHL btw: RM430292073DE 💌📚👭 #BestOf2020
Workinf on my #2021readinggoals and decided to revive an old challenge I really neglected a few years back. So here‘s another round of #ABClassics 📚🤓
Here‘s my wrap up for week four of #WinterGames2020, in which i watched a lot of xmas movies as you can see. I came up with +3286 points for #TeamReadNosedReindeer which has my total now at 5470 points!
Yes, I will listen now! Thank you very much, BBC4, Lady Brienne and Papa G #GaimanGang 😍 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000qm49
Today is just slogging around and reading, which is my favorite holiday tradition. This is also my #SelfieScavangerHunt pic for socks, favorite reading spot by the cozy fire, and by christmas lights with my fave holiday drink (sparkling wine) and fave gift of 2020! +121 for #TeamReadNosedReindeer
I love Shafak, but this would have worked better „in person“ than on paper. She reflects on what is important for a global society and how we got to the stage we‘re in, but it is kept rather broad and general. This was less of a „think-piece“ and more of an inporational essay, as instead of instructions it provides more encouragement not to loose hope i humanity. #24B4MondayReadathon
And part two (clockwise):
🔮one that‘s bookish (my favorites!)
🔮one that was a gift (for my mum)
🔮one with animals
🔮one i can see my reflection in (mtiple times!)
🔮one in my favorite colour (🩸)
🔮one that sparkles
+61 #TeamReadNosedReindeer
And here‘s my #OrnamentHunt talley for our tree (ziggzagging from top left):
🔮one that reminds me of my family (it has my dads name on it)
🔮the straw stars have been used for 30+ years now
🔮one with a character on it: Felix the hare that travels the world (from the german kids classic „postcards from felix“)
🔮one with a north pole character
🔮one that makes noise
+51 #TeamReadNosedReindeer
And here‘s our rather chaste christmas tree which is just how i like it! It‘s the first one we had in years since my parents usually go on vacation just after the fest and I convinced them to just adorn the potted little tree we have outside, since it‘s much better for the environment. But as vacations are impossible this year my mum insisted... and now i have to confess i do enjoy the smell alone immensely! 😍🎄#XmasTreeContest
Wishing all littens a MERRY XMAS AND A PLEASNAT CHRISTMAS EVE (which is the main holiday in germany, unwrapping presents today too!) with a „climate change is real“-selfie from my yard for the #SelfieScavengerHunt & #TeamReadNosedReindeer! It‘s 7*C/44*F and raining. Snow has become a very rare thing in western germany and this is what December weather has become 🤦♀️ Also: plaited hair & lipstick! For me that counts as #dressedfortheoccasion +31
My dad asked me to design a label for the whisky he and his friends blended this year (🙈) and i couldn‘t resist the literary pun. After all, what goes better together than books and booze? 🥃📚😍
Finished this cozy read off my TBR late yesterday. I had hoped for a bit more flair to it, but at least it tried being progressive. The story is utterly illogical but who cares!? #12colohrsofchristmas
Took off 5 minutes here and there to shift around some letters for the #WinterGames2020 weekly game. Got 158 so far and am very thankful for the spreadsheet search function to look out for doubles! #TeamReadNosedReindeer +1580
This is a fivefold #SelfieScavangerHunt sitting in my favorite reading spot in front of mum&dad‘s fireplace (which my dad has forbidden to light because it‘s too close to...) the christmas tree and festive light‘s with a mellow holiday feel-good book! +76 for #ReadNosedReindeer
This week has been super busy at work, which is why i barely participated in any of the #WinterGames2020 activities, but slunk down on the couch at night and watches 6 xmas movies instead. My week 3 total is +423, the new game score is 1983 for #TeamReadNosedReindeer @StayCurious
I‘m completely overwhelmed by all those lovely holliday cards coming in from sunny and snowy places. Thank you @LibrarianRyan andHolidayCardSwap gang ❤️ it was lovely to see you all struggle with the german letter ß in my street name ? and some of you even fully wrote in german! And thank you for the bookmarks, too!
Another bingo card filled and another +201 points for #TeamReadNosedReindeer watching CHRISTMAS WONDERLANd, which is hilariously predictable. But who cares, we have discovered a new art prodigy along the way 🙈
This is my pick for the #12ColoursOfChristmas EVERGREEN which i‘ve put aside as some comfort reading over the holiday break. I‘ve been so anxious at work lately, the familiarity of a neils writing will do good! +11
If you‘re interested in the #BlackLivesMatter movement AND like Lena Dunham‘s GIRLS this is the book for you! An young biracial german woman explores her self-destructive behaviour and the underlying trauma through stream of consciousness. It‘s heavy, but it‘s also very well written so reads flowingly. The English translation will be released by Dialogue Books in 2022. Recommend!
