Surely there would be humidity and plenty of it in Hell. Hard to imagine a condemned sinner saying cheerfully, "Well, yes, it's two hundred and sixty degrees down here, but it's a dry heat.” #degree #QuotsyFeb21

It's been so long since I've read this that I can't remember the context of this quote but I like the way it makes me try to imagine what a paper airplane landing on the moon would be like and how that relates to a #kiss... #QuotsyNov18
My faith is whatever makes me feel good about being alive.
The devil doesn't make us mean, rather when we're mean, we make the devil... Conversely, when we behave with compassion, generosity and grace we create God in the world.
If it's taboo, Tom Robbins will write about it- from the Catholic Church to pyramid power to sex with minors & Fierce Invalids is chock full of all of the above and more. I'm always enamoured with how well Robbins writes his female leads & if you read this book & dont fall in love with Domino Thiry then your beyond my help. Excellent as always.
That's the way the mind works: the human brain is genetically disposed toward organization, yet if not tightly controlled, will link one imagerial fragment to another on the flimsiest of pretense & in the most freewheeling manner, as if it takes a kind of organic pleasure in creative association, without regard for logic or chronological sequence.
It's been such a long time since I've read this book that I've added it to my ever-growing list of re-reads. The greatest thing about re-reading a book you hardly remember is that it's like reading a new book while simultaneously rediscovering an old one. And a Robbins book never reads the same way twice! It's always a new adventure! #Booktober @RealLifeReading #BooksSetinSAmerica
#bookssetinsamerica #booktober I'm too wiped out from stomping around UCONN yesterday to gather up all my books set in S America, so I went with one of the funniest ones that came to mind.
Here is my #feelgoodbook for the #augustphotochallenge. I adore Tom Robbins writing and my copy of this is dog-eared and underlined. I've read it too many times to count and it still makes me laugh and think.
