pickIt‘s a uplifting story of friendship between a 17 year old Raymond n 90 year old Mrs G, how they help each other, & make peace with life. The story delicately portrays several aspects of racism, law enforcement and even the WW II related genocide. However the centre pillar of the story stands on empathy n kindness. A slow paced , peaceful read much appropriate for 2020. Glad I picked this for #overbookedclub 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

pickIt‘s a heart warming story, I got surprised by the details & plot. Jo is a bird researcher who is also a cancer survivor meets a smart girl who describes herself as an alien. To solve the mystery of this unknown girl Jo takes the help of a neighbor who was suffering from depression. This trio, all with haunting past, uncertain future happily live in the present. That‘s the best part of the book. Together they try to get rid of their past. 👇🏻

Here is my #feelgoodbook for the #augustphotochallenge. I adore Tom Robbins writing and my copy of this is dog-eared and underlined. I've read it too many times to count and it still makes me laugh and think.

pickI'm interrupting some fairly depressing reading to re-read this, by one of my favourite Tasmanian writers - it's also dark, but hilarious in equal measure. The protagonists observe some smug and ridiculous mothers, while being quite flawed themselves. There are four tales, I wish there were 10! Wood should be read my more widely. The cover description is spot on. #Tasmania #Augustphotochallenge #feelgoodbook but I don't know why!
