The Out-Of-Sync Child Grows Up
The Out-Of-Sync Child Grows Up: Coping with Sensory Processing Disorder in the Adolescent and Young Adult Years | Carol Kranowitz
1 post | 2 read
The Out-of-Sync Child Grows Up will be the new bible for the vast audience of parents whose children, already diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, are entering the adolescent, tween, and teen years, as well as those who do not yet have a diagnosis and are struggling to meet the challenges of daily life. This book picks up where The Out-of-Sync Child left off, offering practical advice on living with SPD, covering everyday challenges as well as the social and emotional issues that many young people with SPD face. Author and expert Carol Kranowitz's insights are supplemented by first-person accounts of adolescents and teens with SPD, sharing their experiences and hard-won lessons with readers and adding a personal dimension to the book.

#bookspin October book most people familiar with SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) know that Carol Stock Kranowitz has become one of the leading authors in the area despite not being an OT. She has written several books breaking down SPD & activities for kids & families. This book is geared more towards older kids/teens/young adults. SPD is not something that typically goes away with age, kids just learn how to manage & navigate their world & what

ncsufoxes works best for them to navigate every day. If you‘re familiar with SPD there is nothing groundbreaking. If it‘s new territory it could be a helpful guidebook. The insights of older kids/adults is always helpful for understanding their perspective. 14mo
