The National Trust has some cool zoom backdrops to download. Next week I‘ll be sitting in Virginia Woolf‘s writing lodge for all my meetings!

Virginia Woolf helped usher in a major new literary movement with her stream-of-consciousness fiction, which focuses on the experience of awareness and moves fluidly among the inner lives of its characters. Her personal life & incisive feminist essays were no less radical. After a lifelong struggle with mental illness, Woolf put stones in her pockets and stepped into the river near her home. #womeninliterature #literarywitches #womenshistorymonth

“I am reading six books at once, the only way of reading; since, as you will agree, one book is only a single unaccompanied note, and to get the full sound, one needs ten others at the same time.”

Virginia Woolf, letter to Saxon Sidney Turner (8/12/28)

For the #moodreader #whimsyreader in us

ItsAnotherJen I have friends that can't understand how I have 4 books going at one time and keep them all straight. Now I'm feeling 4 is not enough, I need 10. Lol 4y
BookishMe @JenFowler haha! We can never read too many books at any one time ;D I have given up trying to keep count and know that even my GR current reads is not a reliable number 😅😉☺️ 4y
Reviewsbylola What a wonderful quote. I used to be one of those people that couldn‘t understand reading multiple books at a time. Now it just makes sense to me. 4y

BookishMe @Reviewsbylola and how beautifully Woolf had expressed the clarity ;D 4y
rachaich Superb quote but I struggle with more than one fictional book at a time. Maybe I need more practice 🤣🤣 4y
SamAnne Reading Woolf was transformative for me when I first read her at 18. 4y
BookishMe @rachaich baby steps 😉😉 only if you want to though. I truly admire the focus of those who complete one book at a time with unwavering attention! 👌🏾👌🏾 4y
BookishMe @SamAnne I must admit I have yet to read her fictional works. Mrs Dalloway and To the Lighthouse has been on my radar for years ;o 4y
SamAnne @bookishMe To the Lighthouse was my first. You have to take a deep breath and prepare for the pace. And Orlando! Gender-bending before it‘s time! 4y
BookishMe @SamAnne thank you! Will keep these in mind ;D 4y
