1754. Inseparable since birth & growing up in India, Theo and Connie Courtney are torn apart by the tragic death of their parents. Theo, wracked with guilt, seeks salvation in combat and conflict, joining the British in the war against the French and Indian Army. Connie, and abused and brutalised by a series of corrupt guardians, makes her way to France, where she is welcomed into high society. An epic story of tragedy, loss, betrayal and courage.

An epic adventure spanning the globe from colonial India, to Europe and North America. While I did appreciate the book for its descriptive settings and fast paced plot, I prefer my adventures more modern and intellectual. Too much gratuitous violence and graphic sex for me. I still recommend it for those who enjoy high octane adventures of revenge with brave men and damsels in distress. Out Sept. 3rd. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #seasonalreadingchallenge #netgalley

This was really slow for me and I felt like the author sacrificed the story for excessive description of the setting. I just couldn‘t get into this one. Maybe if I read some of the other books in the series I would like it better, but based on this book alone, I wasn‘t a fan.

Sunraven At least it has a fun cover? 😉 5y
Victoriahoperose @Sunraven this is definitely a bonus! 5y
