Not gonna lie, this one was kinda disappointing. A relatively unremarkable and quite forgettable mystery, where disgraced journalist Leah Stevens moves to Pennsylvania, to start a new life as a teacher at the local high school and soon becomes involved in the disappearance of her roommate Emily. ⭐️⭐️ #netgalley #goodreads #seasonalreadingchallenge

Alora Awe, really? :( I just picked this one up from a sale the other day. 4y

From the creators of my favourite book series (Agent Pendergast 🙌) comes a brand new series with two intelligent and strong female leads. A mix of archeological history and FBI procedural, this first book did not disappoint! Looking forward to the next instalment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Booked2019 #Booked2019Summer #bookgiftedtoyou #seasonalreadingchallenge

Happy I listened to this on audio because I think it would have been a slog to get through it had I read it. Listening to it brought all the intricate descriptions to life. I‘m really looking forward to watch the movie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Booked2019 #Booked2019Summer #booktomovie #seasonalreadingchallenge #birdoncover

Cinfhen I read this book when it first came out & I remember thinking, it‘s JUST TOO LONG!!! It was a great book but definitely a slog / how many hours was the audio??? 5y

Female author's are just killing it this year and another book added to my favourites of 2019! Hands down the creepiest, most unsettling and disturbing book I've read so far this year. At once both terrifying and heartbreaking, Melanie Golding weaves a compulsively readable, frightening atmospheric modern day psychological thriller from the tendrils of dark folklore and grim fairy tales. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #netgalley #goodreads #seasonalreadingchallenge

Don't let the serene, bright, sunny cover fool you! This story is tumultuous and dark, just like the storm clouds brewing in the distance. The writing gave me a creepy, unsettling vibe and the constant feeling of an ax about to drop. A totally engrossing, compulsive page turner by the talented Canadian author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #netgalley #goodreads #seasonalreadingchallenge #damselindistress

Narnia was such a huge part of my childhood so the premise intrigued me. The characters were wonderful on the surface with potential but should have been fleshed out more, which in turn would have eliminated a lot of the circling back over already hashed out ideas. The fantasy worlds were confusing and not well explained even though the subject was discussed on numerous occasions. A quick, easy read. ⭐️⭐️ #seasonalreadingchallenge #groupread

Ever since ‘Amazonia' all those years ago I have been a James Rollins fan and I'm happy to be getting back to one of my favourite series. Although not one of the stronger books in the Sigma Force series, 'The Eye of God' offers the armchair explorer a bit of everything - action, adventure, history, science and technology -wrapped up together with strong, intelligent writing and a kickass cast of characters. #seasonalreadingchallenge #takingaction

An epic adventure spanning the globe from colonial India, to Europe and North America. While I did appreciate the book for its descriptive settings and fast paced plot, I prefer my adventures more modern and intellectual. Too much gratuitous violence and graphic sex for me. I still recommend it for those who enjoy high octane adventures of revenge with brave men and damsels in distress. Out Sept. 3rd. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #seasonalreadingchallenge #netgalley

I‘m ✅ with first quarter for a #seasonalReadingChallenge and I‘m very pleased by this ... last year I participated in a quite few challenges, but I finished - none of them 🤷‍♀️ Seeing this ✅ makes me feel 😁
