I just read the first chapter of PLAYING HOUSE, the first novella in Ruby Lang‘s Uptown Collection, and I‘ve got a really good feeling about it.

I had no idea that urban planning/historic preservation romance novels were a thing, but I‘m 1000% here for them! This was so sweet.
I like how the author provides recommendations for other books in the same location/setting
Nerdy urban planners bantering about the thing they love while also, ahem, discovering mutual pants feelings for one another is really just my jam.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. But, I had some problems; I felt like the book just kind of pushed me into the deep end of the pool and expected me to keep up. Also, the whole structuring if the book was weird to me and threw me off a bit. And upon completion, my thought was “cute, like a poor man‘s The Kiss Quotient.”
