The Parent's Tao Te Ching
The Parent's Tao Te Ching: Ancient Advice for Modern Parents | William Martin
5 posts | 4 read | 18 to read
William C. Martin has freshly reinterpreted the Tao Te Ching to speak directly and clearly to the most difficult of modern tasks -- parenting. With its combination of free verse and judicious advice, The Parent's Tao Te Ching addresses the great themes that permeate the Tao and that support loving parent- child relationships: responding without judgment, emulating natural processes, and balancing between doing and being.

How did I not know of this book before now? This may end up as my go-to baby shower gift.

Mehso-so

There are moments of brilliance and moments of complete and utter bullshit. And don't get me started on the washing over mental health issues that seems to be a hallmark of religious writing of all flavors.

Titania Love this book. Just recommended it to a friend who is looking for parenting zen. I pick it up and ready it at random to recenter myself. The teen-tween years are tough for everyone! 8y

What I thought would be a cheesy book instead became a book that helps me explorer introspectively how I parent.
