This book can be inspiring to young students and let them know they all have a place in the world to do something great and to not give up.
Nothing Stopped Sophie (2018) by Cheryl Bardoe is a story about Sophie Germain, an eighteenth-century mathematician. Sophie was discriminated against because she was a woman but solved a math problem that male scholars said would be impossible to solve.
#CuriousCovers Day 6: this amazing picturebook biography fits the #Yellow cover prompt.

“Sophie is celebrated today because nothing stopped her. Her fearlessness and perseverance inspired many people. Perhaps she will also inspire you.“
The illustrations were my favorite part of the book along with the inspiration it shows.
Nothing Stopped Sophie: The Story of Unshakable Mathematician Sophie Germain by Cheryl Bardoe was inspiring. It is about the true story of 18th century mathematician Sophie Germain, who achieved her dream. A professor discovered that the homework sent to him under a male pen name came from a woman. And she tackled a math problem that male scholars said would be impossible to solve. She didn't listen to anyone and pursued what she wanted. Amazing!
#AyUpAugust Day 10: #Stop is not a word that Sophie Germain knew. Sophie Germain had that love affair with mathematics, at a time when women were perceived to be too feeble-minded, weak, and simply incapable of grasping its complicated concepts, and so she became the unstoppable mathematician.
