Tanjiro sets out on the path of the Demon Slayer to save his sister and avenge his family! In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life. During final selection for the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro faces a disfigured demon and uses the techniques taught by his master, Urokodaki! As Tanjiro begins to walk the path of the Demon Slayer, his search for the demon who murdered his family leads him to investigate the disappearances of young girls in a nearby town.

Pickpick

This is a soft pick for me only because this one jumped around a lot and it made for not a very smooth transition as reading goes. The characters here one second, doing something somewhere else the next and it‘s all a lead up to the introduction of what will probably (I hope at least) an important character in the overall arc of the storyline.

Volume two picked up right where volume one left off. But it goes downhill from there. This book has so many swerves it is sometimes hard to keep track of all that is happening. Our main character becomes a Demon Slayer, is sent on assignment, and carries his sister on his back. This is a little all over the palace. The author seemed to spend more time on the attack and the battles than on the story and things are lost.

Yep! Still good! The memes about Muzan Kibutsuji looking like Michael Jackson all make me giggle. #bookjournal #manga

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, vol 2-16, Chapters 143-169 (via MangaRock)

Oh, so good 👍 Despite having read volume 2 and beyond online & free, I‘ve enjoyed this series so much that I plan on purchasing and adding it to my manga library at home 😊

If you enjoy action/adventure with strong family bonds and friendship, then read this series 😉 The anime is also currently airing 👍

GrilledCheeseSamurai Haven't read this but I am watching the anime. Everyone was freaking out about how good episode 19 was last week so I'm excited to get to it. 😁 5y
