This week‘s episode of my book podcast will make you feel *almost* all the feels you experienced when Kate and Leo hit the big screen together in 1997… and not only because it covers similar historical territory. Author and podcaster Kelsey McKinney is on the show to chat about one of the most popular installments in the beloved Dear America series, Voyage on the Great Titanic. 🛳💔 Listen at the link in my bio!

#BookMail from the AMAZING @CrowCAH and she mailed NINE Dear America books to me along with a lovely note. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and know that should you ever need something I have in my collection, they are YOURS! Thank you for allowing me to add to mine for my Daughter. ❤ Truly grateful 🙌📚😊

BooksTeasAndBookishThings @LeahBergen I know!!! I can't believe it 😍 8y
brilliantglow Lol that's is fantastic! It's always nice to be spoiled by fellow littens they truly understand the love of all things bookish 8y
CrowCAH You're superdeduper welcome! 😆 Glad I could assist! (Pride and Prejudice is about the only book I really search out and collect. Check out my Facebook (Cynthia Anne Hurt) album 100+ P&P books to see which ones I already own.) 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @CrowCAH I collect P&P, too!!! lol I really love that book, it is my favourite classic followed by Jane Eyre and Anna Karenina, and I collect all 3. Perhaps I have something you don't and I can send your way. I will take a look 😊 8y
mrsamandahood I might be the only person on Litsy that has never read P&P 🙈 8y
CrowCAH @BooksTeasAndBookishThings thanks, I appreciate you taking a look for me! 8y
CrowCAH @mrsamandahood no worries, there are plenty of other Litsians who have confessed to the same crime lol. Have you read any of Jane Austen's novels? You don't just need to read P&P to be a fan. 8y
mrsamandahood @CrowCAH No ?. I'm embarrassed to say this but I've honestly never read any of the "classics" before. I grew up in a non-reading house. I personally started reading as a hobby as a late teen and then started growing my own collection here and there. I've been getting back into reading especially here lately. But still no classics yet. ? 8y
Smangela Loved these books growing up! 8y
CrowCAH @mrsamandahood it took me awhile to get into the modern classics. Well, I recommend P&P! 😉 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @CrowCAH is right, @mrsamandahood P&P is SO worth it! And you are definitely not the only Litten to not have read it ❤ Take your time and read it without pressure when YOU want to. It makes all the difference with classics. 8y
mrsamandahood @CrowCAH @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely get to the classics at some point. 😊 8y
kspenmoll Try on serial reader. That is how I read Middlemarch over a few months- breaking the book into segments made it less daunting & I read at leisure & also another book at same time. Ending up@loving the book! 8y
awbree.reads I remember reading these as a kid 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @awbree.reads I loved them SO much! ❤ 8y
mrsamandahood Thanks @kspenmoll! Will do! 😁 8y

Pickpick

I ADORED these in the 90s! I loved history as a kid (still do!) and couldn't get enough of these diaries of girls my age set during important events in our nation's history. I'm actually working on collecting them now! Sorry for the bad photo quality...I took this picture of the ones I own a while ago to keep as a reference on my phone for when I find Dear America books at sales 😊 #photoadaynov16 #publishedinthe1990s
