I thought this was really clever. Cover was gorgeous. Had a lot of tidbits of life at that time. Meditation on "surviving" the Titanic is very interesting to me considering all the stories of "I could have been there" on 9/11

Robin Gibb & his son RJ composed the Titanic Requiem for the 100th anniversary of the sinking. The song “Don‘t Cry Alone” is beautiful and haunting. #TuesdayTunes

The RMS Titanic struck an iceberg at 11:40 pm on April 14, 1912. She sank at 2:20 am on April 15, 1912. Survivor Lawrence Beesley wrote a memoir that I wish was required reading in schools. It includes important lessons that are relevant today. Beesley doesn‘t just look at those directly involved with the tragedy. He looks at society‘s involvement as well. ⬇️

Kerrbearlib I love this quote about a man he met on the Carpathia who recognized his indirect role in the sinking. The man had demanded faster travel for his own convenience and thrown fits when he didn‘t get it. Other travelers had done the same, thinking of their own convenience rather than the safety of others. Their collective selfish and impatience played an indirect role in the Titanic tragedy. 1w

Maybe I‘m not in much of a fiction mode right now but I found this one really hard to read through. I might come back to it lasted on this year but for now it‘s going back to the library

4⭐️ I really enjoyed the book, but I liked the Violet Jessop storyline more. I also liked how the author incorporated a HEA into the story without it seeming too contrived. #2025 #fiction #historicalfiction #historicalromance

Think I‘ll give this a go. I loved the evernight series, I‘m hoping this will be just as good.

Recently finished: Been on a reading spree these past few weeks; really don‘t know what is in the water, but I‘ve been on a tear since the end of January.

Currently Reading: I can‘t seem to shake the first two books at the moment; think I need to focus on those two until I am finished them; hope to start Homecoming this week

melissajayne Upcoming Reads: I hope to start at least one of them this coming week. 2mo

5✨ I‘ll admit it took me a bit to get the sisters and passengers of the Titanic straight, but I knew it would have to be a lot of characters based on what we know would happen by the end. I like that the author did a lot of research to make it a mostly true story. I loved this story! 🥰

Roary47 @staci.reads The chocolate didn‘t last a week, but I‘m sure this will be a re-read one day. Thank you again for the gift. 🥰💛 2mo

Really well researched and interesting to read. There was too much scene-setting of historical markers that weren‘t relevant to Margaret‘s life. I was drawn to the book because I loved the musical The Unsinkable Molly Brown with Debbie Reynolds, and I bought the book at the Titanic Museum in Missouri. She was never even called Molly, so that‘s just a small taste of how many things about her life and personality were incorrect.
