CoffeeAndABook Thanks for the tag 🙋🏼‍♀️ How‘re you doing? Keeping up a life with lower digital time? 5y
raelaschoenherr I‘m doing well! Yep, still not doing too much social media. It‘s been good for me! Sadly I also haven‘t had time to read as much lately 😫 How are you? 5y
CoffeeAndABook @raelaschoenherr Hi!! I had family visiting from the States this past week so I didn‘t get to check Litsy for a while... am still exhausted from the visit. I LOVED seeing them but I let myself get so stressed!! 🙈 Other than that I‘m fine! I‘m sorry to hear you have less time to read. That‘s unacceptable!!! 😱 is there any chance that will change anytime soon?? 5y
See All 12 Comments
raelaschoenherr @CoffeeAndABook Sorry things got a little hectic for you! But I‘m glad the visit went well. I hope I‘ll be able to read more soon! I think I‘ll just need to be more intentional about it. It‘s been a pretty busy stretch of time lately, so by the time I have free time, my brain is fried and I‘ve only felt like putting TV reruns on...so I should cut back on that :) 5y
CoffeeAndABook @raelaschoenherr Oh I totally understand!!! My best time for reading is definitely in the morning and these past few years I've been lucky to find jobs where I work afternoons/evenings. After work I hardly ever read, eyes and brain just won't function anymore 😝 What reruns are you on? I'm always on the lookout for new series to watch! (edited) 5y
raelaschoenherr @CoffeeAndABook I love Friends, The Office, Parks & Rec, and New Girl! All god for rewatching :) 5y
CoffeeAndABook @raelaschoenherr Yesss! I love all of the above shows, except Parks & Rec, which I‘ve never found here in Germany. I‘d have to add the Gilmore Girls to that list and maybe Seinfeld but have never found anything like Friends in terms of humor & emotional attachment 💓 As to more recent TV, I‘ve been enjoying The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Frankie & Grace. Oh and One Day at a Time - have you seen those? 5y
raelaschoenherr @CoffeeAndABook I‘ve seen some of GG and Seinfeld. And I really enjoyed Maisel!! I haven‘t seen Frankie and Grace or One Day at a Time. I forgot to mention Brooklyn 99 too! The Good Place is great, and I‘m a few episodes into Killing Eve. And I love a lot of Masterpiece miniseries (Victoria, Poldark, Grantchester, Les Miserables) 5y
CoffeeAndABook @raelaschoenherr Ooh yes, of course - Poldark 😃 I‘ll keep my eyes open for the other miniseries!! Give Frankie & Grace a shot 😉 Hope you‘re doing well & things are winding down so you get to do some fun reading!! 5y
raelaschoenherr @CoffeeAndABook Wow, that‘s so fun!! I hadn‘t seen it 😆 5y

I‘ve seen and loved the movie but have never read the book. A friend‘s been on my case for years to read it, so I used Christmas break to finally get to it! Definitely laughed out loud on multiple occasions and enjoyed seeing how the movie differed from this.

September was...a month without much margin, if you know what I mean 😆 I‘m so excited to have powered through and be on my way to two weeks of vacation and FINALLY have time to get farther than chapter 9 in the honkin‘ long Lethal White that‘s been burning a hole in my Kindle. Nothing like international travel to give a girl concentrated time to read!

CoffeeAndABook Hey there!! I‘ve been checking into your feed on a regular basis b/c I‘ve found that our reading tastes really overlap & I love to get inspired by your reading choices. Great listen! I was doing a lot of guessing on how things would play out and enjoyed the unfolding of the story. I loved the intertwined stories and especially hearing from the MC at 18 and 36. Some hard realities in this story, but Williams does a great job exploring the emotions of that while also giving some light too. This was an #audiobook I kept looking for excuses to keep listening to!

LOVED this book! It combined so many of my favorite things and kept me guessing. I was initially unsure about 2 of the 3 POVs being in the same time (rather than 3 separate time periods), but I ended up loving that too. Everyone should look forward to its release in October!

Where to begin? Kate Morton's books, for me, are a slow burn. I'm always interested in the story and want to keep reading but never quite DYING to turn the next page. But she gets me at the payoff every time! She's so good at taking all the pieces of her story and weaving them together in unexpected and brilliant ways. I loved all the eras she incorporated and the glimpses of different characters at different stages of their lives. Recommended!

This juicy, dishy book was right up my alley. There's something for everyone here with two time periods (1914 & 1964), major secrets, family history, romance, betrayal, danger, murder, a lady scientist, and a whole lot else to make this an addictive, hard-to-put-down story. This is my first of her historical women's fiction, and I'm kicking myself for having waited so long to finally read her. I can't wait to read the rest of her books!

Wow, this book was FANTASTIC. At first, I had a vague impression that it would be boring and not for me. I'm so thankful for all the rave reviews that pushed me to pick it up. I was more absorbed in this than I've been in anything for a while. I remembered random pieces of Greek mythology, but I'm not super well-versed, which meant twists on my suspicions and lots of surprises. The #audiobook narrator was excellent and enhanced my experience!

Action-packed, and the stakes keep getting higher. I enjoyed seeing the conflict continue to grow in scope and to see all the stories coming together. Helene has been stealing the show for me in books 2 and 3! But I'm still rooting for all the characters in general and nervous/excited to see where things go in book 4. On an #audiobook-related note, these narrators are AMAZING.

I had a hard time putting this one down! This was on par with Day of the Duchess, for me. I appreciated both the hero and the heroine, and while there was a trope I'm not super a fan of, she handled it better than many. I enjoyed seeing a different side of London and the interplay between the other characters too. I'm intrigued to see where she takes things with some of the other characters, particularly book 3!

Really enjoyed this 2nd entry in this series! Because the last story was about him finally going back to his hometown, that one felt a bit more personal, but I think Harper did a good job of still including some personal stuff about Falk. I especially liked the thread about his father. And it was great to meet Carmen! Looking forward to the next one. Also, I really enjoy experiencing these with an Australian #audiobook narrator.
