It's an exciting new world where dragons dare to dream. Arak could quest for hours in trance, his mind far away, his body limp. He was different, and so he was tormented by other young dragons. He left the clan, flying far over the sea, until a fierce storm made him crash. Scree, an adventurous octopus, found and healed him. A great friendship began. Arak returns to the Festival, where dragons feast and toss lightning bolts in the clouds. But a deadly illness stalks the clan. When Zarina falls ill, he vows to save her. He must cross the endless sea to seek the cure. Can Arak use his unique talents and alliances to save the dragons?

Mehso-so

This was a pretty odd but sweet story but I was mostly bored and couldn‘t wait to finish it really, this 246 or so paged book felt like a 500 page book though and not in a good way 🥱 Read as part of the #Buzzwordathon 3/5

A lovely story about a Dragon and an octopus who meet in unforeseen circumstances and develop a relationship that will change both their lives in astonishing ways.
This is a children's book but the author is a marine biologist and the detail and knowledge she has put into this story ensures that the world she creates is appealing to all. Also the overarching themes of unity, cooperation and peace are relevant to the world today. A 5 star read.

A bit utopian for my personal taste, but it's for kids so that's probably a good thing. The friendship between the dragon and the octopus is adorable. The science sprinkled throughout the tale is magnificent. Full review on Goodreads. (Erin Michelle Sky)
