so-so#doublespin famous five is a perfect Boxing Day read but this one wasn‘t quite as good as the others. The boys were really mean to George (and Cecil, who didn‘t really seem to do anything wrong!), and a bit too much focus on Anne playing housewife.

pickA beat-up copy of Little Toot and the Loch Ness Monster came through the book drop, and I was instantly hit with nostalgia. Gorgeous watercolors, a sweet Scottish adventure, and the joy of reading it aloud to my coworkers sealed the deal. I didn‘t know this was part of a series, but now I want them all. A charming rediscovery! 🛳️🐉📖
pickI‘ve seen this book around for a while. Last week some school psychology colleagues recommended it, specifically for neurodivergent kids experiencing anxiety, so I decided to add it to my collection.
I‘m big on psychoeducation. If we understand how our brains and bodies work, we become empowered. This is a great book for older primary (elementary) school kids. It‘s great for all kids, not just neurodivergent ones.

My dad had cancer 3 years ago, did radiation & was in remission. He recently got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer & had his first chemo a few weeks ago, he‘s determined to fight. He finally took the plunge & shaved his head this past weekend. He always had the most beautiful hair. It‘s jarring but he‘s rocking the buzz cut.
