Thai for Beginners | 
1. I took 4 semesters of mandarin and visited China for a month and learned a lot but I have lost most of it! I speak Thai a little. In 2013 I lived in Thailand for 6 months and by the time I left I was basically fluent but as they say use it or lose it.
2. Yes but usually I like to learn it barefoot while I‘m there with the locals.
