8 posts | 18 read | 4 to read
The international bestselling series returns for a new generation with a fresh look and bonus content from the legends of Deltora. The evil Shadow Lord is plotting to invade the land of Deltora and enslave its people. All that stands against him is the magic Belt of Deltora with its seven stones of great and mysterious power. In secrecy, with only a hand-drawn map to guide them, two unlikely companions set out on a dangerous quest. Determined to find the lost stones and rid their land of the Shadow Lord, they struggle toward their first goal--the sinister Forests of Silence.

I‘ve been harshly judging Emily Rodda book covers since the turn of the century and WHY AM I LIKE THIS? I ALWAYS END UP LOVING THEM! Better late than never, I guess?

This is the first audiobook I‘ve listened to that had background sounds, the ominous music had me on the edge of my seat!

CaramelLunacy I love audiobooks that are like a full production! So atmospheric 1y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CaramelLunacy, it was mostly just at the start of chapters or when something intense was happening (so not quite a full production in this case) but I agree - so atmospheric! (edited) 1y

“The kingdom of Deltora is turned upside down when the King and Queen both die mysteriously and their young son, Endon, is given the Belt of Deltora and pronounced king.”

This is one of the first series of books I can remember reading growing up. I recently decided to reread them and I love the nostalgia they fill me with. Apparently they've made it into an anime, too!

Redwritinghood My son loved these when he was younger. 6y
Freespirit My children read these too 6y

My son's birthday list. Almost all books plus an iTunes card because he loves listening to music while he reads. I promise birthday book photos coming soon! And if anyone has Deltora books they are ready to give up let me know. His top request is for this series, which hasn't been published in years!!!

britt_brooke Love this! 8y
Texreader @britt_brooke I have to admit my jaw dropped when I saw it. He's always loved reading. But now he's embraced it like the rest of our little family. So so happy!! 8y

ValerieAndBooks Aww! And the best part is that books are easy to shop for if the titles are on the list -- no worrying about if a shirt (for example) is the right color, style, or size 😊! 8y

Not book related, but this app could perhaps help you read more! I saw it mentioned on Book Riot's article on how to get more reading done each day. One writer mentioned this productivity app, Forest, that lets you set the amount of time you want to spend away from your phone. The more time you spend away, the more your tree grows! I'm trying it out this afternoon. 🌳🌲🌴🌵🌲🌳

Today I have a guest post from @forestofglory discussing moves by the World Science Fiction Society to add a Hugo-related award for achievement in YA speculative fiction. The WSFS are currently running a poll for the name and would love your feedback.

Found my Deltora Quest books from over sixteen years ago! Really makes me feel old, but I am so glad I kept all of them. This is the series that really got me into reading, it's just as fun as I remember! 😊

IsabellvD Same for me! Loved This series so much 8y
