This was a great read! I was totally pulled into the lives of Emily and Lucy! There was some serious gaslighting going on with changes happening to the timeline. Andrew and Duncan are both so enticing and the need to see more of them is real. I'm glad that Ari and Emily are friends again, but what will happen next? Can't wait to read book two.

This was a great book! Loveday deals with the fact that her sister has been kidnapped, her father has kept secrets from her all her life, and she has these budding feelings for a boy who was brought to replace her. This was a great addition to the Ivory Tower Spies series! I'm left wondering who is Nexus? What will happen with the budding tensions inside the group? Is Haru hiding something?

Oh my gosh. It was hard watching Loveday deal with her grief over where she is in life and who and what she's lost. Starling wormed his way into my heart even if I tried to keep him out like Loveday does. Royal becomes a fallible person instead of a perfect figurehead. Clarity... I can't even process everything that happens with her in this book! I need to see what happens in Sicily ASAP. What a fantastic book!

I became so invested in the lives of the spies living in the Ivory Tower. Getting to know each one as the book goes on was a complete joy. I loved the romance between Vale and Loveday. What does Royal know about Clarity's heritage? What is the deal with Darnay? I have so many questions after finishing this book and my heart is slightly broken. I can't wait to read the next story about the Ivory Tower Spies!

This book was exponentially better than the first in the series! I loved the character development with Scarlett. She's not just a regular mortal girl who is consumed with her own angst anymore. There is plenty of fallout from the Battle of the Heirs to keep you interested, and you get to learn about the Unseelie Court and Kaelem. I have a lot of feelings about Raith and Kaelem. I'm ready for book three!

Overall this was a pretty good book. Some of the details and mythology surrounding the fae could have been fleshed out a little more. It wasn't super thought provoking but I enjoyed the plot. After finishing this, I definitely want to read the next book in the series, and I have a feeling the second book will be even better!

I stuck it out on this one because reviews said the second half was better and I wanted to hold out to see if there was any redemption. There were things that I empathized with and I liked that as the character struggled with her identity she called herself different variations of her name (Lizzie, Beth, Elizabeth, Liz). Overall, it was just not an enjoyable read.

KathyWheeler I didn‘t think it was enjoyable either, and I hated that the main character was so passive — she just let things happen to her. While I was reading it, I‘d occasionally go reread the reviews to make sure we were reading the same book; I just didn‘t get what reviewers saw in it. 6y
