I had a hard time staying interested in this one. Bridget was just not that interesting of a heroine... #romantsy

Light and fun mash-up of Pride and Prejudice and Bridget Jones' Diary w Mean Girl references thrown in. I liked it enough to look for the following 3 books in the series
Fifteen pages in... I quite like this so far! #romantsy #summerofromance
what happens when an American family suddenly learns they are the heirs to an estate in London? gossip, romance, scandal, and blackmail, naturally, especially with a diary involved! besides the obvious P&P and Bridget Jones references, there's a little bit of Mean Girls too. my tired teacher brain needed this kind of fun, silly escapism. #romantsy
currently reading this fun little mash-up of Pride & Prejudice and Bridget Jones's Diary. #currentread #allthesingleladies #junebookbugs
To be fair, no one ACTUALLY laughs. But I do think I spend a disproportionate amount of my life not getting it "right" somehow.
This book was very much... Bridget Jones meets Pride & Prejudice with a few details altered. 😊

Time for some chocolatey goodness and a fun read! #romantsy #chocolate #tea
I usually don't pan a book, but this one was redic. Had a cute premise: American siblings find out bro is now a duke, while also a nod to "Bridget Jones Diary" and by extension "Pride&Prejudice." Yea..... this story was a mess- it combined too many elements of other stories so it was never its own. But the worst: There was LITERALLY a Lord Darcy. A Lord Colin Darcy. Listen I ❤️ me some Colin Firth as Darcy but this was crazy-I eyerolled so hard.?
My list for April, most library holds. #aprilbookshowers #apriltbr
I love Pride and Prejudice, and re-read it annually. So, Lady Bridget's Diary should have been a winner. It's P&P, with significant influence from the Bridget Jones' Diary version, and a heavy dose of 'Mean Girls'.
The book is enjoyable, but forgettable. I was left feeling - been here, read that, and it's been done better.
It's derivative. The original content is great, but there isn't enough of it.
I wanted to love this book. I really did.
A very sweet adaptation of Bridget Jones's Diary (itself an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice). It was fun seeing all the layers from the different Austen and Fielding adaptations, with little Easter eggs. But plot did start to feel boggy with set-up for the next three books.
Forget the Kardashians I'm going to be keeping up with the Cabendishes.
(3.5 stars) Three Thoughts 1) A slow start & POVs not of the hero or heroine were distracting 2) wish this story wasn't so obviously based on something else as it seemed forced and clunky 3) loved the cavendish clan & looking forward to book 2
