A story of a woman‘s acting and dating past, enfolded in the story of her current family life during the togetherness of the early COVID months
A story of a woman‘s acting and dating past, enfolded in the story of her current family life during the togetherness of the early COVID months
Didn‘t hit me as hard as it did the first time, but I still love it.
And I like the book ending more that the movie ending
It‘s not particularly Christmas-y, and I didn‘t really start to enjoy it until close to the end. I just never fell in love with the main character
A decades-spanning story of the friendship between two girls, and their circle of family and friends. I didn‘t love it, but I‘m glad I read it.
Some nice descriptions of food, clothing, and Parisienne life, but it felt very rushed and predictable at the end, and I ultimately didn‘t care very much about the characters.
A fleshing out of the party alluded to in book one.
Pretty dry for a book about how our thoughts affect our physical body. I guess I was expecting something more instructive and inspirational
Essentially a story about two women, their grief, and their growing relationship ❤️
At first I found it tiring jumping back and forth between two storylines, but as they progressed and I got more invested in both, it wasn‘t such a bother.
Satisfied my craving for a slightly magical time travel-type story 🧡
Cute stories; some funny, some corny, some sweet
I don‘t know if I like her more or less after hearing her story. I do wish she included a lot more about her courtship and life with her current husband. One measly paragraph wasn‘t enough for me
The title essay is my favorite ❤️ The last essay was a lovely follow up that had me in tears
I just wanted to give Britney a big hug after her breakup with JT, and at several other points in her story
Was skeptical when a co-worker recommended a book about an octopus 🐙 it‘s not just about an octopus but he‘s pretty great
So glad this book avoided the usual clichés. I love these kids ?
My new favorite Emily Henry. Loved both the hero and the heroine 💕
There were some interesting bits (struggling to come up with an example) but I was mostly bored
Instant love for this one. Immediately started the Apple TV series, and while there are several changes, big and small, I‘m loving the show as well
So much fun (after the horrors of the first chapter).
Didn‘t think I could get into human/alien sex but it‘s fantastic 💙
Overly dramatic and immature, but I guess that‘s developmentally appropriate at their age. Still love these boys
Liked this one more than I expected to. The author presents her mother, Alice Waters, as someone who‘s focused, particular, and a little eccentric. Might be time for a visit to Chez Panisse
Another cookbook to add to my wishlist. So many delicious looking recipes. I‘ve got the ingredients for the clam dip already 😋
I don‘t think I would have liked it as much if I wasn‘t already a fan of the author‘s.
A pretty perfect YA novel featuring my favorite type of YA characters: good, smart kids. They reminded me of some of the characters in the show Never Have I Ever. I loved it!
Time to return this one to the library, but it‘s going on my to-buy list.. I may be on the West Coast, but everything in this Maine-based cookbook looks delicious and beautiful
Met my goal of finally reading a mystery. This was fine, but I guess they‘re just not for me 🤷🏻♀️
Returning this to the library today but it‘s good enough to buy 👍🏽
Loved both the hero and the heroine, both such good people 💕
Re-reading after watching the movie. The book is cooler in tone, and a lot more graphic. Movie is warmer, with a lot of details changed.
Hearing Edward‘s thoughts as he fell in love with Bella made me fall in love with Bella
Not as interesting as I anticipated it would be, but I liked how she described feeling like a liquid/part of humanity as whole after her stroke, and then getting more solid/individual the further she progressed in her recovery
I liked the hero a lot, but found the heroine unnecessarily prickly and hot tempered.
I‘m so disappointed in this one. The time travel was the least interesting part, and I didn‘t get into it until more than 2/3rds in.
Liked but didn‘t love.
I didn‘t like the reason for their initial breakup, but enjoyed them getting to be friends and then lovers again.
First times and university tours. Good stuff 👍🏽
I guess it‘s better than the first book? Maybe I‘m just not in the mood for fantasy because I‘m not getting hooked on the story 🤷🏻♀️
My biggest takeaways: exercise, eat less calories but more protein
I got bored with all the science details
I never fell in love with the heroine, but I liked the hero a lot. It‘s the first in a trilogy and I hope my library obtains the other two 🤞🏽
My 2nd book by this author. I enjoyed it more than The Flatshare, but I‘m wondering if I‘m missing something with this author of if I haven‘t been in the right mood for her 🤔
This was a long one. It had a saga-like feel, and it took a minute to get absorbed into the story, but I ultimately liked it. A fun visit back to the 90s. Could have done with an epilogue, but that‘s what I almost always say.
Meh. Sir Candle Man has a large following in the candle community and his IG stories can be fun, but this book was not my favorite. I found the section on decorating with candles to be a little strange.
Some good advice, but I didn‘t care for the writer‘s style/voice.
I love kitchen memoirs and this one was quite cozy 💖 I‘ve ordered a paper copy already
I stumbled upon this book when searching for an Earl Grey scented candle. Someone recommended Laurel Mercantile‘s Tudor candle. Haven‘t bought the candle yet, but did manage to watch one episode of their show. The book leaned more Christian than I anticipated. They seem like a very sweet couple.
