What an excellent book! Could not put it down. Fantastic mystery and I did not determine the guilty party ahead of time. A wonderful cast of working dogs, a tough female police officer and nail biting suspense!

Being a huge dog lover and a Chicagoan, I was super excited to start this new series! And once I started it, I definitely had a hard time putting it down! Mace trains cadaver dogs, but his newest dog soon stands out as especially talented - and soon it becomes personal when an especially vile killer takes note of the pair. A solid start to a series, my only wish is that the next installment relies on more real Chicagoland locales! #DogsOfLitsy

JoScho I loved this one too. 4y

Honestly, you see that cover - how could anyone resist that cover?? Adorableness aside, there‘s a solid & suspenseful whodunit that lends itself more to the thriller side of a mystery. The narration includes the POV of the antagonist & I always love that in a story. I like to understand the motivations of all characters involved. I truly enjoyed this story thoroughly. It‘s a solid start to a series that I know I absolutely want to continue!

I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but I did with this one. The dog on the cover is what caught my eye. When I realized it was a mystery with dogs in it, I was even more excited. I love books with service dogs (police, search and rescue, etc.)

“There are only two kinds of people in this crazy world of ours-those who like dogs . . . and assholes.” Sign me up for this series! Mace trains cadaver dogs and helps the Chicago PD. He gets a new yellow lab and her skills go beyond anything he has experienced. The two of them then must deal with a serial killer that has his sights set on Mace himself. I loved the dog angle of this book.
Thank you to Minotaur and #NetGalley for the arc.
