I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

Today, I‘m sharing my listening progress for the book I‘m currently listening to on audio. I‘m borrowing this one from #primereading. This is what I wrote about it in my reading journal on Storygraph.

Here‘s what I think about this book so far. This is what I wrote about it in my reading journal on Storygraph. Storygraph has a reading journal and you can use it to take notes when you‘re reading a book. Maybe taking notes about the books I‘m reading would be helpful when I‘m writing my reviews because I feel like I struggle with writing reviews. I‘m borrowing this book from #primereading.

The Likely Resolutions of Oliver Clock by Jane Riley. Book 8

This was a sweet book. I didn‘t think it was going to be something I enjoyed but it was.

Jane Riley has managed to pen every single emotion of a man battling between the worlds of a lost love and the realization to live life to the fullest in the current world in the most beautiful manner possible. The emotions are raw, you truly connect with the character of Oliver Clock, and are able to fully empathize and understand what he is going through. In many cases you will identify with him, albeit in a different setting.

I thought this was an enjoyable, gentle read, quite humorous at times. Oliver was quite an odd bod, I don‘t know many men like him! It‘s supposed to be comparable to Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine which I loved. It‘s a similar genre but I didn‘t think it was as good. But well worth the read even so. 3.5⭐️

I was finally able to quiet my brain enough to finish this one. While not my favorite, this story of a lonely funeral home operator had its moments. One particular thing I loved was the gimmick of creating candles whose scents honored your deceased loved ones. I don‘t know if that‘s a real thing, but it should be.

ItsAnotherJen That's actually a nice idea 5y

Headed out to the mailbox to send a couple of letters (still dreadfully behind but working on it!) and met the Amazon delivery lady with this for me. She said she‘s lost 14 lbs. since starting to deliver for them! Shoot, maybe I should apply for a job there! #bookmail

Has a book ever inspired you to shop? After reading Oliver Clock I had to have a clothes steamer. It was my Prime First Reads pick for January. Loved it! I'm recommending this charming book for my Book Club and buying a print copy for my Forever Shelf.

Kimberlone My bf recently bought a steamer and it‘s so much easier to use than an iron. I am also happy because I don‘t have to iron his dress shirts anymore! 5y

I can‘t tell you how many times I almost gave up on this book. I was having flashbacks of the boredom associated with My Year of Rest and Relaxation. But I pressed on and it was SOOO worth it! This story is heartwarming but it does have some depth that goes beneath the quirky surface. I‘m just in 💗 with all of the characters in this story (unlike those in My Year 🙄). Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.
