I picked up a copy of the tagged book at the library, but I am so invested after 100 pages my husband is buying me a copy.
I picked up a copy of the tagged book at the library, but I am so invested after 100 pages my husband is buying me a copy.
Five star read. Maybe best book of 2022. Time will tell.
I am in love with this book. I have this ridiculous smile on my face as I‘m reading because I am just so in love.
I finished this yesterday and holy shit. I had heard of this case on a podcast, possibly Least of These, but I was not prepared. What a horrific case. What a horrific woman.
I have had this book for a year. Broke down and bought the ebook when it was on sale, and finally, finally getting around to reading it.
Loved the writing, hated the subject. I actually steer away from serial killers despite loving true crime, but Israel Keyes is interesting.
For Mother‘s Day I upgraded my phone and bought 5 new books. Well 4 books as one is for my husband. I‘ll have to try to get a picture tomorrow. Tonight though I am working on the tagged book.
What I expected, the story of a girl leaving a cult.
What I got, a story of a girl leaving her family.
Went to Albany yesterday to get my iPad fixed. Surprisingly it was a matter of giving me a new one rather than repair the screen... So that was sweet.
The promised pic of my book haul.
It was library day today. Last trip I got four books and DNF'ed all but one. This time I got five and hopefully I'll have more luck. I'll post a picture of my loot later.
It has been a day. I had a phone interview this morning and then went to get our taxes completed. Already got a call back to schedule a in-person interview for said job. And I got this in the mail for reading for the blog I am working on.
Now my daughter and I settling in for a Disney marathon while my husband is at work.
I tried o get into this a few times before and finally this time it stuck. I go so invested, and now I want to go back and read the physical copy.
Hehe, love finding fun gems like this.
Also, this book is addictive…
I‘m almost certain that this was my favorite read this year. It's a memoir with a mystery tied in which completely engrossed me. I took my time reading this and I am glad I did.
Bitter is the New Black is one of my favorite memoirs, which is funny as Jen of the Bitter days was insufferable…yet hilarious and vulnerable. I actually reread it last year and found that it has held up. Unfortunately the humor from the first book is waning and while Jen is a lot more likable, The Tao of Martha is just a bit off. Oh, and TW: dog death.
I was really struggling with reading this, so I switched over to the audio and it is such a better experience. I am definitely going to need something cheerful and fun after though.
An audio listen. It felt too rushed, almost like it was an outline rather then a full novel which is a shame because it could have been so much more.
I listened to the audio but I will probably go back and reread in print as I feel like I missed a bit. Really enjoyed it though.
This was a surprise for me. I think I accidentally stumbled on this awhile ago when looking for freebies on Amazon but didn‘t think much about it. However, I feel like I tore through this excited to hear of the adventures.
Decided to put The Zookeeper‘s Wife aside for now, I‘m going to try it on audiobook as the Polish words and names are throwing off the rhythm. Going to try the tagged instead.
As if yesterday wasn‘t exciting enough, my daughter ended up throwing up all night. She seemed to be in so much pain my husband ended up taking her to the doctor‘s. She‘s doing better now and is currently napping. I have been up all night between my daughter and not being able to get comfortable. I‘m going to try to nap though.
My tv attempted to kill me today. Fortunately it‘s just a nasty bump and abrasion that seemed a lot worse then it was.
Trying to read the tagged book but it‘s not holding my attention. I just want to watch some mindless tv but, the tv made out worse then I did.
I accidentally clicked an ad on my color by numbers app and ended on on the Kindle daily deals. I have trying not to buy anything ass money is super tight right now…but I ended up buying Project Hail Mary, Malibu Rising , and Between Two Kingdoms.
I seriously got Nora Ephron vibes from this, I would not be surprised if a movie is in the works.
Listening to the audiobook and I gotta say, the woman who narrates Laurie‘s sections is getting me in all the feels.
The pacing however is excruciating. If I was reading it rather than listening I‘d have jumped ahead to get a peek…but I will try to resist.
I don‘t think I have ever read a book with a more descriptive title. If you don‘t ugly cry at least once reading this…you are a monster. I think my favorite part is this takes place in Orange County, NY where I lived for a short time.
I started listening to The Namesake today. I love this novel, I even have a first edition on my shelf. Oh, and my husband made California rolls for dinner. Aren‘t they gorgeous?
Well written but a bit of a slog to listen to.
1. The Last Romantics, Three Little Words, There, There
2. Crying in H-mart
3. The Killer Across the Table

Finished listening to this while doing laundry. I really need to watch Mindhunter on Netflix.
I picked this up thinking it was a non fiction book about one of the TB hospitals…and well, it was certainly not that! I enjoyed this despite the initial surprise, but it was just a bit too drawn out. It felt like it took forever to build up. Good writing but not anxious to read anything else by the author.
I absolutely loved this memoir. I told my husband that we now need to find somewhere to get Korean food so I can truly appreciate this. I also discovered some new music from the author.

I am having a lazy day. Reading in bed with the toddler, a cat and a dog.
Finished listening to this last night. Mary Laura Philpott is definitely on my radar now, really enjoyed this collection.
Kind of uneven and ended up skimming over the parts that take place in 1949 because I found it tedious, especially because it went backwards.
Another reread, this time in audio. It was an interesting experience as hearing Daisy‘s speech inflections made her a more interesting character then when I just read the novel to myself.
This was my second Sally Hepworth book and I really enjoy her style. This was a bit too soapy, but a good listen and it had a few really touching moments.
Well, I did finish listening to this but unfortunately I hated it. I understood what the author was trying to do but it did not work for me.
This is making me really uncomfortable. Not sure if I will finish.
Enjoyable listen. I need to see if his blog is still around.
