Slam! | Walter Dean Myers
3 posts | 7 read
An exciting, eye-catching repackage of acclaimed author Walter Dean Myers' bestselling paperbacks, to coincide with the publication of SUNRISE OVER FALLUJA in hardcover. Seventeen-year-old Greg "Slam" Harris can do it all on the basketball court. He's seen ballplayers come and go, and he knows he could be one of the lucky ones. Maybe he'll make it to the top. Or maybe he'll stumble along the way. Slam's grades aren't that hot. And when his teachers jam his troubles in his face, he blows up. Slam never doubted himself on the court until he found himself going one-on-one with his own future, and he didn't have the ball.

A great story about learning how to win both on and off the court. I enjoyed reading about the moments that took place off the court, but found the moments on the court tedious (but mostly because I just don't like basketball). Now please tell me this works for #Booked2018 #OlympicSport because it was a near Olympian task reading an entire book about a subject I'm not entirely into...

AndreaReads @Cinfhen Yay!!!!! I was afraid that I was going to have a difficult time following the prompts, but it's been fun looking for new/different reads that I might not have picked up otherwise! 6y
Cinfhen I agree, but the #cozyMystery I read was crap😬I should have tried an Agatha Christie..... 6y
