Book #12 for #14Books14Weeks2021 . Yes, I am behind and I did not finish in time but I am going to finish lol. This book has been lingering on my stack since purchasing on a recommendation last spring. With a cover rivaling that of one of my favorites, Cork Dork by by Bianca Bosker, I knew I had to read this book! Wine girl reads like a memoir just like Cork Dork does. Fascinating and riveting. TheHeartlandBookFairy enjoyed the story of Victoria's background to some extent, what I really enjoyed reading the most was was her journey to becoming a Sommelier and all of the interesting wine facts and tidbits along the way. 3y

Victoria James has not had an easy road to get to where she is now. Her achievements are incredible to begin with, even before you realize the obstacles she overcame to get where she is. What an impressive woman and what an impressive memoir for someone so young.

It's the one that shows up If I click on the tagged book here. May I ask where you got your book? I like your cover so much better 😅 Also, have you read Cork dork bye Bianca Bosker? Also a true story and I loved it! The cover is super similar to the cover a photo of your book 😁 4y

janeycanuck @TheHeartlandBookFairy the ISBN on my copy is 978-0-06-302273-7 and is listed as the international version. Try Book Depository, they probably carry the same edition. 4y

I had been looking for a copy for about a year for my brother so that one went to him. If I find another copy, I'll snag it and let you know. I'd be happy to send it to you 😁 4y

Victoria James certainly endured a great deal and achieved a great deal at a young age. Usually that would be the recipe for an audio memoir that I would tear through but I think this one lacked depth and self reflection making it difficult for me to connect. Plus I wanted more wine. #booked2020 #wineorwhine

Hovering between so-so and pick for this one but am feeling generous. I love reading anything about wine and the restaurant industry, although this was a little uneven. I wish I could be shocked at how poorly women are treated but nothing about it is surprising, sadly. Finally I can‘t help but mention that a professional narrator might have done a better job on the audio.

I‘ve realized that I‘m being drawn more and more to biographies! I love hearing people‘s stories and the obstacles they‘ve overcome and their personal triumphs! This book really shows why the me too movement needed to happen! Women need to be treated way better!!
