3 posts | 9 read | 4 to read
"New York Times" bestselling author Lorna Barrett presents another page-turning chapter in her Booktown Mystery series. This time mystery bookshop owner Tricia Miles is about to find out murder is no walk in the park While out walking Sarge, her sister s bichon frise, Tricia is led by the agitated dog to a man lying in a gazebo. She s startled when she recognizes Pete Renquist, the president of the Stoneham Historical Society, who appears to be suffering from cardiac arrest. When Pete later dies in the hospital, the discovery of a suspicious bruise and a puncture mark on his arm suggests he may have been murdered. Haunted by Pete s enigmatic last words to her, Tricia begins to consider who had a motive to kill her friend. Did Pete take his flirting too far, only to have a jealous husband teach him a lesson? Or did he discover something in the town s historical records that his killer wanted kept secret? Tricia is determined to get to the bottom of things before someone else becomes history INCLUDES RECIPES"

A Fatal Chapter | Lorna Barrett
Mehso-so

It was sweet and I enjoy this cozy series but found this one a little disjointed. Still recommend as a whole though😊

Do you ever wish you could find a cozy set in a certain state? Or about fishing, fashion, tea, or some other theme? Heard about one and can't remember the title or author?

Then I have found the site for you! It's all about cozies and lists them by state, by theme, and more.

MyNamesParadise I personally despise cozy mysteries and don't consider them real mysteries 🙈 don't hate me! I like the darker themes...I always have. But I understand why others love them. 8y
ReadingEnvy Cool. I definitely am guilty for picking cozies based on location... Irish bog bodies anyone? 8y
melbeautyandbooks @CoveredInRust Yay! Love to hear that! 8y

melbeautyandbooks @MyNamesParadise You're allowed to like what you like. Life would be boring if we all liked the same stuff. I also love the darker mysteries. Give me a Tana French or some Henning Mankell any day. I also love the cozy mysteries for those times when I just want some brain candy. 🍭🍬🍫 8y

Cozies are fun transitions, brain candy and comfort reads for me! 😆🍭 8y
