This P book would be great for IR with its fun variety of poems about many different animals. Each page has a picture and a poem describing an animal and how they eat. This book would be great for students to pick up and read a few poems during free time, maybe when they don‘t have enough time to read a whole picture book, they can read a couple poems. The book inspires student choice and

Chaseb ESOL strategy 4 link the lesson to students prior knowledge works with the animals because they can think about what they already know about some animals while learning about others.
I think this book is a great poetry option to have in your elementary classroom! 4y

DrSpalding PBS is an excellent resource that you should continue to seek out for assistance/ideas in your elementary classroom. Choral reading and poetry go hand-in-hand. Excellent book selection. 4y
