I grew up listening to ALOT of JT, so this was a very natural pick for my monthly biography. I just wish it were longer. I had no idea about his connection to The Beatles. It‘s a miracle JT is still alive today after hearing about all he got into in the 60-70s. Book #48 in 2025

Those songs I listened to in my teens and twenties? Now I know where some of them originated and who they were about. In this 90-minute memoir with musical interludes, James Taylor reminds us how young he was when the Beatles tapped him for their record label. And in case you're feeling jealous, he also reminds listeners that his life devolved into heroin use and psychiatric care before the age of 21. For me, this was a short story well told.

Amiable I love JT—such a wonderful voice. 4y
KathyWheeler I‘ve had this since it came out because I love him, but I haven‘t listened to it yet. 4y

Just finished listening to this - add 1.26 hours to my #24B4Monday James Taylor has always been one of my favorite musicians. His was the first concert I ever attended. He was amazing and his music always makes me sing. He said the mark of a good song is not how it makes the composer feel, but how it makes the people that hear it feel. This is an excellent audiobook! If you‘re a JT fan, you have to listen to it!
